Sony still working on fixing the image blur on its premium 4K TVs

The Japanese based tech giant Sony is known for the quality of hardware which the company sources in its gadgets. It’s latest PlayStation 5 is a clear indication of the company’s dominance in the hardware market. Speaking of dominance, its TV segment, which the tech giant is so proud of, is one of the company’s most profiteering sectors.

But recently, it seems the image quality of the companies TVs has been deteriorating. Sony promised that it would address image blur that set in after enabling 120 Hz at 4K, although it was unclear how the company planned to do this. Though it likes to boast the display resolution and refresh rates of its TVs, it still has not delivered a satisfactory performance.

But the new firmware update from the manufacturer promises to address the issue. Sony claims that v6.0414 adds support for 4K/120 Hz output and the Apple TV app. The firmware update has fixed 4K and 120 Hz issues with XH90. However, the company states that 4K and 120 Hz is only possible when using HDMI 3 and HDMI 4.

According to sources, v6.0414 sharpens images at 4K and 120 Hz, mitigating the existing blurriness. reports indicate the company’s TVs are still struggling to reproduce single-pixel vertical lines accurately at 120 Hz and 4K.

Ultimately, it seems that Sony is unable to fix the blur that affects the likes of the XH90 above 60 Hz at 4K. as to when the company will address the issue with its full might is yet to be seen. but for PS5 owners who play their games using Sony’s TVs might have to endure the disappointment of 4K for quite a while.
