YouTube x IIFA: Bollywood’s Biggest Night

Bollywood’s glitziest night is about to get a lot more accessible. YouTube and IIFA have announced a partnership that will bring the IIFA Awards 2027 to a worldwide audience through a global stream.\

A Partnership Two Decades in the Making

The IIFA Awards have long been a showcase for Indian cinema abroad. According to Gunjan Soni, Country Managing Director, YouTube, IIFA has been “the gold standard for taking Indian cinema to the world” for over two decades. Now YouTube wants to take that celebration to viewers everywhere.

What’s Coming on YouTube x IIFA?

Feature	What It Offers
IIFA Awards 2027	Worldwide live stream on YouTube
IIFA Week	A large library of long and short-form programming
YouTube Creator Collective	Stars and creators collaborating on the ground
IIFA Uncut	Exclusive digital watch parties and the intimate Greenroom series
IIFA YouTube Creator Club	Behind-the-scenes storytelling for global fans

Why Fans Should Care?

Soni explained that today’s fans don’t want to just watch from the sidelines. In his words, they want to be part of the cultural conversation, and premium entertainment has become “a highly interactive, multi-format journey.”

That shift explains the plan. With YouTube’s global reach and the fast rise of Connected TV, the awards can reach living rooms and big screens around the world, not just the people in the venue.

More Than One Night

The partnership isn’t limited to the ceremony. According to Soni, IIFA is opening up “unprecedented access” across IIFA Week, with a big mix of long and short-form content on YouTube.

On the ground, the YouTube Creator Collective will bring stars and creators together for exclusive collaborations. Online, fans can look forward to IIFA Uncut, with digital watch parties and the Greenroom series, plus the IIFA YouTube Creator Club, which promises authentic behind-the-scenes stories.

Where Silver Screen Meets Creator Culture?

One of the most interesting parts of the announcement is the mix of old and new. By opening this long-standing stage to digital storytellers, Soni said IIFA is building a cross-generational connection. The goal is for the timeless magic of silver screen icons and the creative energy of top creators to “inspire and amplify each other.”

For viewers, that could mean the red carpet moments you love plus the casual, behind-the-scenes content YouTube fans enjoy.

If you can’t travel to the ceremony, this is the next best thing. A global stream, week-long programming and creator-led content make IIFA 2027 look like a celebration anyone can join from a phone, laptop or smart TV.
