Xbox Stream Box prototype images and features leaked online

The new Xbox Series S and Series X gaming consoles are the best-selling consoles of the Xbox series. The supply chain has not been affected despite supply issues globally.

Xbox is also attempting to bring its Xbox Game Pass Service to more screens, TVs appear to be one of them.

In the previous month, Xbox had stated that it has joined hands with multiple TV manufacturers to bring the Xbox experience to internet-connected TVs without any additional hardware except for a controller.

This app will permit users to access its game Streaming service, xCloud on their TVs. For non-internet connected TVs, there will be another option available, an Xbox Streaming Device. This device will plug into a TV or external Metro and allow the users to access xCloud. Alleged images along with details of a prototype called the Xbox Stream Box have appeared on the internet. Since these are rumors and not confirmed, take them with a grain of salt.

This image was posted on Twitter by a user @PostUp_bbb, however, he is probably not the original source. From the image, we can make out that the device is a cuboid with sharp corners and a white finish.

There is an Xbox logo on the top left corner. The front sports a USB- Type-A port and a power button while the rear has an ethernet port, a USB Type-C port, for power, and an HDMI port.

Another image that emerged lists some of the features of the device that the prototype is from earlier this year and the design has been modified now. It also reveals that it is supposed to launch by the end of this year but it may be unlikely due to the global chip shortage. But, we cannot rule out the possibility of the device still launching this year.

Coming to the other features of the device, the streaming box is said to be a little thicker and wider than a deck of playing cards that measures approximately 64mm x 89mm.

The Mi TV Stick is 92.4mm long, so we can expect the Xbox streaming box to be similar lengthwise.

Once plugged into the TV, users will be able to stream from their gaming console or xCloud. They will also be able to connect not only an Xbox Controller to the device but also a wireless keyboard and mouse too.

The Xbox stream box has built-in Wi-Fi or you can also plug in a cable into the ethernet port on the back. It also comes with support for Party Chat and streaming apps such as HBO and Disney+.

The streaming device will not only be useful for those without an internet-connected TV but also will come in handy for anyone who wishes to play on whatever screen is available to them.

You can plug it into a hotel TV during your holidays and use it, you will need to just bring your controller along.
