With Udaipur all decked up for the most awaited wedding of 2026, VIROSH is finally happening. But before Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna write their forever, the internet has rediscovered a golden 2018 throwback — one where Vijay’s parents unknowingly described their future daughter-in-law to perfection.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Throwback That Has Everyone Emotional

Back in 2018, during the success meet of Geetha Govindam, the host asked Vijay’s parents — Govardhan Rao and Madhavi — about their expectations for their son’s future partner.

Madhavi shared that she simply wished for someone who would genuinely love and care for Vijay and understand the demanding nature of his profession in the film industry. Echoing her sentiments, Govardhan Rao said that he wanted his son to marry the person of his choice, irrespective of caste or religion — adding that he would be happy if Vijay married an Indian, preferably a South Indian.

Rashmika Mandanna — a South Indian actress from Karnataka — fits every single one of those wishes beautifully. Life truly comes full circle.

Over the years, fans closely followed Vijay and Rashmika’s bond, strengthened through films like Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. During promotions for The Girlfriend, Rashmika hinted at having a partner who helped her heal from past pain — sparking widespread speculation that she was referring to Vijay.

Reports later suggested the couple got engaged privately in Hyderabad last October, long before they made their relationship public. Confirming their big day, the duo thanked fans for coining “Virosh” and embraced it wholeheartedly for their celebration — naming it “The Wedding of Virosh.”

Vijay himself had joked at that 2018 event that while the choice of partner would be entirely his, his parents would also need to adore the girl. Eight years later — they do.

Rashmika Mandanna is one of India’s biggest pan-Indian stars, known for her roles in Pushpa, Animal, and Dear Comrade, making this wedding a truly historic moment for Indian cinema.
