Vijay Deverakonda & Rashmika Mandanna Break Silence: Why They Kept Their Love Story Private for 8 Years

For years, fans asked the same question: are they or aren’t they? Now Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have answered it. The couple married on February 20, 2026, and have finally explained why they kept their love story off the headlines for nearly eight years.

“There Was No Hide-and-Seek”

On Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Vijay said it began as friendship between colleagues, which slowly turned into love and then marriage. He insisted there was never a hide-and-seek game. He simply didn’t feel his personal life needed public discussion.

Rashmika backed him up with a line that sums it up: “Our relationship is not for entertainment. It is for us.”

In a separate chat with Prakhar Gupta, Vijay called Rashmika the more mature partner. He shared that she tells him she loves him 10-15 times a day, and she reminds him that saying it out loud matters, even when he feels it constantly. It’s a sweet reminder that celebrity couples deal with the same everyday things as the rest of us.
