Before you even touch a controller, the soundtrack is already stealing the spotlight. French electronic duo Justice, the Grammy-winning pair behind some of dance music’s most recognisable riffs, have confirmed the Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score, and the first taste is already out.

The Big Announcement

The full score lands on December 11 across all major streaming platforms. If you like your music physical, it’s also coming on double CD and triple vinyl, a fitting format for something this cinematic. Fans can pre-save the album and pre-order the physical editions now.

Meet “Pusher”

The newest drop is “Pusher”, a collaboration with fellow French electronic pioneer Gesaffelstein, and it’s out today. Two of France’s most distinctive sound-makers on one track is the kind of pairing that makes producers and playlist curators sit up straight. Think dark, driving and built for late-night drives.

A Guest List Worth Talking About

The standout is “Flower in a Hurricane,” featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. That is an unusual mix of psychedelic rock, modern R&B and electronic production, and it hints at how wide the album’s range might be.

In total, the album gathers 30 tracks from Justice’s full suite of music composed for the game. Digital bonus tracks are also included across every format, so even collectors get something extra.

Why This Matters

Game scores used to sit quietly in the background. Not anymore. With GTA VI being one of the most anticipated releases in gaming, its music is becoming part of the build-up. Having a full score from a major electronic act signals that the game’s atmosphere, from its tension to its neon-lit energy, is being treated as seriously as its gameplay.

If you want to dive into the world behind the music, Wikipedia’s page on Grand Theft Auto VI is a good starting point for background on the game.

What Else to Explore

The official GTA VI site’s music section reportedly features previews of select in-game radio stations, along with singles from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. So there’s plenty more to hear before launch.
