Upcoming Ryzen 7 5700U to have better graphics than Ryzen 7 4800U

AMD will soon be launching it’s Ryzen 5000 series processors marking the debut of the Zen 3 microarchitecture on October 8th while bringing in the much-hyped Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA 2 based GPUs on October 28th.

Recently spotted by @TUM_APISAK, the upcoming Ryzen 5000U Cezanne APU will be featuring 8 Zen 3 cores and 16 threads, a step up from last-gen’s Ryzen 7 4700U. However, the upcoming Ryzen 5000U APUs will still retain integrated Vega graphics.

On the other hand, the AMD’s leaked roadmap the Van Gogh APUs will be featuring RDNA 2 graphics but come with Zen 2 CPU cores. The upcoming Ryzen 7 5700U was spotted on the Ashes of Singularity benchmark paired with 16GB DDR4 RAM.

If you closely see, the upcoming Ryzen 7 5700U scoring 1600 points at 1080p low and it’s a minor improvement over last-gen’s flagship Ryzen 7 4800U. However, it lacks the generational leap in graphics as we saw with Intel’s Xe graphics, but AMD Cezanne APUs should have better CPU performance.

What’s interesting is, the upcoming Van Gogh APUs whose specs or details aren’t known much but would actually use the AMD’s RDNA 2 graphics that shall give great performance benefits.

The Van Gogh APUs will use the same Zen 2 CPU cores + RDNA 2 graphics combo as the upcoming next-gen gaming consoles from Microsoft and Sony are being used, so a new concurrent lineup especially for gaming can actually be asked from AMD in 2021. With both Cezanne & Van Gogh APUs, AMD is supposed to answer Intel next year.

Also, AMD has reportedly partnered with MediaTek to make custom Wi-Fi chips that can be integrated out-of-the-box on AMD’s upcoming mobile APUs to stop Intel’s dominance.
