The Films You Can’t Miss

1. Pati Patni Aur Woh Do

This movie may be the most eagerly anticipated rom com of 2026. Director Mudassar Aziz returns to the franchise he built, this time pairing Ayushmann Khurrana with Sara Ali Khan — a duo nobody’s seen on screen together before. Add Rakul Preet Singh and Wamiqa Gabbi to the mix, and you have a love quadrangle that promises chaos, comedy, and heart in equal measure.

2. Chand Mera Dil

It introduces a brand new on-screen couple — Ananya Panday and Lakshya — in a passionate, emotionally-driven love story from Dharma Productions. Directed by Vivek Soni (Meenakshi Sundareshwar) and featuring a title track sung by Saiyaara sensation Faheem Abdullah, this one is already sparking reel-worthy moments.

3. Cocktail 2

The most talked-about spiritual sequel of the year reunites audiences with the genre’s signature love triangle DNA. Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna make it arguably the most exciting casting combination in any 2026 rom com.

4. Love and War

And then there’s Love and War — Sanjay Leela Bhansali directing Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in an intense, visually grand love story that the director has described as emotionally charged in a way only he can deliver. The August release date makes it the year’s romantic curtain call.

Why 2026 Is Rom Com Season

After years of action and franchise dominance, Bollywood’s romantic comedy genre is experiencing a genuine revival. Fresh pairings, acclaimed directors, and scripts that blend humour with emotional depth have reignited audience interest — and the box office is responding.

As filmmaker Kunal Kohli recently noted, the industry still underestimates rom coms, despite the fact that audiences consistently embrace them. This year’s slate might just prove him right, once and for all.

Final Verdict

Whether you live for the butterflies of a new pairing or the nostalgia of a beloved franchise returning, the upcoming rom coms 2026 list has you covered from February all the way through to August.
