What Is Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai About?

The story follows Jass, a wedding photographer who falls for Bani while shooting her sister’s wedding, and the two eventually marry. Five years later, Bani asks for a divorce because Jass wants children while she doesn’t, and the marriage ends up being annulled. A heartbroken Jass then moves to London, where he meets and starts dating Preet — until Bani resurfaces to tell him she’s pregnant with his child, the very same day Preet shares the same news.

It’s classic David Dhawan territory: chaotic, comedic, and unapologetically over-the-top — a fitting send-off for a director who has been part of Hindi cinema’s comedy landscape for decades, with this reportedly being his final film as director.

When Will Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Stream Online?

While the film is still running in theatres, there’s already heightened curiosity about its streaming debut, with reports suggesting it will premiere on ZEE5 — though this hasn’t been officially confirmed by the makers or the platform.

The exact streaming date remains unannounced, but most Hindi films typically arrive on OTT 45 to 60 days after their theatrical release, which would place HJTIHH’s digital premiere around August 2026.

A Star-Studded Family Affair

This marks the fourth collaboration between Varun Dhawan and his father David Dhawan, following Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No. 1. Pair that with two leading ladies and a supporting cast packed with familiar comic faces, and it’s easy to see why fans are eager to catch it again — this time, from home.
