Trophy Won, Love Lost? Splitsvilla 16 Winners Gullu and Kaira Are Reportedly Unfollowing Each Other — and Fans Are Heartbroken

They won the trophy, took home the prize money, and had fans rooting for them through every twist and turn of the villa. But just weeks after their Splitsvilla 16 victory, Gullu (Kushal Tanwar) and Kaira Anu may have already called it quits — and the internet is spiralling.

The Unfollow That Broke the Internet

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Kaira and Gullu are no longer part of each other’s follower lists on Instagram. Adding fuel to the fire, some pointed out that a handful of their collaboration videos and lovey-dovey reels have suddenly vanished from their respective Instagram feeds.

For a couple that had been riding high on post-show popularity — releasing a song together, posting romantic content, and keeping fans thoroughly entertained — this digital disappearing act has set off alarm bells. Fans who adored them together are now left piecing together what went wrong.

One heartbroken fan wrote, “What happened between Kaira & Gullu?? I really love them together… their ‘Guzara’ song is also so nice… chemistry bht achhi thi…. kya hogya hai.”

Not everyone is surprised though. Another user opined that even on the show, the connection was more for views than anything real, and some fans pointed to their conduct during the show as a red flag they had overlooked.

What Industry Buzz Says

Industry buzz suggests that since the show is over, Gullu will no longer be running behind to make up with Kaira — but neither of them has officially released a statement regarding their current relationship status.

It’s a pattern we’ve seen play out before on Indian reality TV. As Wikipedia’s overview of reality television notes, relationships formed under the heightened emotional conditions of a reality show often struggle to survive the transition back to everyday life — cameras off, pressure gone, real world back in full swing.

It was only last month that the duo defeated fellow finalists Yogesh Rawat-Ruru Thakur and Sorab Bedi-Niharika Tiwari to claim the Splitsvilla 16 title. At the time, an emotional Kaira had expressed how unreal it felt to win the show with Gullu, praising how they stayed strong through the emotional highs and lows of the game. pinkvilla

The contrast between those emotional victory moments and a quiet Instagram unfollow just weeks later is genuinely jarring — and it’s exactly why fans can’t stop talking about it.
