Few arrivals in Tamil cinema generate buzz the way Trisha Krishnan showing up for Thalapathy Vijay does — and May 10, 2026 was no different. Dressed in a stunning teal-and-gold saree with a cream blouse, Trisha stepped out of her residence accompanied by her mother Uma Krishnan and headed straight to Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium for Vijay’s much-anticipated event. When reporters called it “a big day for Tamil Nadu,” Trisha smiled warmly and simply said: “Yes. Thank you, thank you. Looking forward.”

Short, graceful, and loaded with meaning — very much her style.

Why Trisha’s Presence Means So Much

Trisha and Vijay share one of Tamil cinema’s most celebrated on-screen legacies. Their pairing — spanning films like Leo, Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi, and Kuruvi — has consistently delivered blockbusters and remains deeply embedded in Kollywood history. Their effortless chemistry across multiple genres, from action to romance, earned them a devoted fan following that spans generations.

Their blockbuster films together:

Film	Year
Ghilli	2004
Thirupaachi	2005
Aathi	2006
Kuruvi	2008
Leo	2023

Beyond the screen, their bond has long been a subject of fan curiosity and media speculation. In early 2026, reports of Vijay and his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam heading for divorce surfaced publicly. Shortly after, Trisha and Vijay were spotted together at a wedding reception in Chennai wearing coordinated cream-and-gold outfits — a moment that sent social media into a frenzy.

Trisha’s attendance at his May 10 function — in full public view, poised and unbothered — only deepened the conversation.

Thalapathy Vijay — A Transformative Chapter

The event itself marks a significant moment in Vijay’s life beyond cinema. Having announced his transition into politics with his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, this public function at one of Chennai’s largest indoor venues represented a milestone in that new journey — with the Tamil film industry’s biggest names there to witness it.
