“The Vvaan – Force of the Forest” hit theaters today, September 25, and social media is already delivering wildly divided verdicts. From calling it a full-blown theatrical entertainer to branding it one of the worst films of the year, Twitter (now X) users aren’t holding back their opinions on this Deepak Kumar Mishra-directed fantasy adventure.

On the positive end, several viewers praised the film’s ambitious blend of folklore, mythology, action, romance, and adventure, calling it a genuine theatrical experience. One user went further, saying they were emotionally overwhelmed by the climax and hailed Sidharth Malhotra’s performance as a strong career comeback. But not everyone was convinced — one particularly harsh critic gave the film just 1/5 stars, calling it mediocre and one of the worst releases of 2026, while pointedly suggesting that production house TVF should have stuck to what made them famous: Panchayat. That same reviewer questioned how the film handled its devotion angle entirely.

Others landed somewhere in the middle, echoing a common thread that’s shown up in multiple reviews of the film: a flat, unfocused first half weighed down by forced comedy and an unnecessary family track, though some felt it needed a much stronger second half to fully deliver on its premise. The film follows Rishi, a rationalist engineer who returns to his ancestral village in Bihar, only to unknowingly break an ancient seal protecting the sacred forest Dev Van — unleashing supernatural chaos and haunting visions of King Vikramaditya that force him to confront his disbelief and embrace an unexpected destiny.
