The MediaTek Dimensity 1000L shows its dominance in the latest AnTuTu rankings

The Taiwanese chip manufacturing giant has been overshadowed by Qualcomm, always, in the high performing SoC segment even though MediaTek’s Helio series is quite familiar to the budget end customers. This has completely overturned with the new MediaTek Dimensity series.

Both the Dimensity 800 and Dimensity 1000L are high performing 7nm SoCs that gives high performance even though it will be powering the mid-range smartphones. Already we saw Antutu benchmarks showing its dominance over the Snapdragon 765G and now the Antutu rankings prove it all.

Talking about the SoC itself, the 7nm based MediaTek Dimensity 1000 features four high-end Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.6GHz which is the main reason for the better performance of this SoC and we have four Cortex-A55 power-efficient cores clocked at 2.2GHz.

So, the ranking states the top 10 best-performing mid-range phones of January 2020 and it is evident from the scores that the OPPO Reno 3 5G, powered by the Dimensity 1000L, is the leader with a whopping score of 397,965 which is even better than the last time benchmarks.

The second position is captured by the Vivo X30 Pro 5G featuring Samsung’s Exynos 980 chipset and scoring a 326,851. Even though both of the smartphones have the same RAM + storage but the Samsung chip lacks in performance.

MediaTek Dimensity 1000L outperforms Snapdragon 765G in AnTuTu

On the other hand, the newer Redmi K30 5G (8GB+128GB) featuring the Snapdragon 765G scores 322,927 and the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G (6GB+128GB) scores 320,597 points. The new Oppo Reno 3 5G leads the performance has a huge 20% advantage over the Redmi K30 5G, mostly due to the CPU and GPU performance of the Dimensity 1000L.

The Helio G90T performs well considering its price but it’s surprising to see the Kirin 810 on the Honor 9X Pro outperform both the Helio G90T and the Snapdragon 730G and appears to be about 5% worse than the Snapdragon 765G.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that the newer Helio G90T on the cheaper Redmi Note 8 Pro beating the Snapdragon 730G on the new Redmi K30 as well, this itself proves the dominance of the newer MediaTek chipsets in the budget level and mid-range.
