What Happens in the Final Season?
The story picks up in April 1887, with Lidia’s brother Enrico now serving as a member of parliament, actively working to pass legislation that would formally allow Lidia to practise law. Meanwhile, Lidia navigates her relationship with prosecutor Pierluigi Fourneau (Gianmarco Saurino) — keeping things private and resisting any movement toward marriage.

The season’s emotional centrepiece arrives when Lidia’s closest friend, Grazia Fontana (Liliana Bottone), is accused of murdering her husband. Lidia takes on her most personal and high-stakes case yet — arguing self-defence before an all-male jury. The devastating twist? Fourneau is the one prosecuting the case, placing their relationship under enormous pressure.
As if that weren’t enough, journalist Jacopo Barberis (Eduardo Scarpetta) returns to Turin, reigniting unresolved romantic tension with Lidia and forcing her to finally confront her feelings for both men. The final season promises resolution on every front — legal, personal, and emotional.
Returning cast includes Pier Luigi Pasino as Enrico and Sara Lazzaro as Teresa, while new additions Liliana Bottone and Ninni Bruschetta (as the King’s Prosecutor, Cantamessa) bring fresh dramatic energy to the finale.
Lidia Poët was a real historical figure — Italy’s first modern female lawyer, who fought tirelessly for the right to practise law in the late 19th century. The series fictionalises her battles with wit, warmth, and period-perfect style.
