Lyric Translations Go Global
Spotify’s translation feature, previously limited to select markets, is now available worldwide. Users can tap the translate icon on any lyrics card to view translations below the original text. The feature automatically displays translations based on your device’s language settings and allows instant switching between original and translated versions.
This addition is particularly valuable for language learners, international music fans, and anyone curious about the meaning behind their favorite foreign-language tracks. Whether you’re vibing to K-pop, Latin hits, or French ballads, understanding the lyrics is now just a tap away.
Offline Lyrics for Premium Subscribers
Premium users rejoice—downloaded songs now automatically include lyrics for offline viewing. No more losing access to lyrics during flights, commutes, or areas with poor connectivity. This feature seamlessly integrates with Spotify’s existing download functionality, ensuring your complete music experience travels with you.
Lyric Previews Beneath Album Art
The new lyric preview feature displays song lines directly beneath album artwork or Canvas clips in the Now Playing view. This real-time display makes following along more intuitive without needing to open a separate lyrics screen. Users can easily share specific lines to social media platforms, and the feature can be disabled anytime via the three-dot menu by selecting “Lyrics Off.”
With hundreds of millions of daily lyric views on Spotify, these updates address user demands for more accessible, flexible, and engaging ways to connect with music. The rollout is currently underway across iOS and Android devices globally.
