Cretton is widely expected to direct Spider-Man 5, but his schedule is full. He’s next working on the live-action Naruto adaptation, he recently signed on for a Hawaii Five-0 movie, and he’s still attached to Shang-Chi 2. That could push the film back several years.

Holland isn’t idle either. He’s leading Paul King’s untitled Fred Astaire biopic and may appear in the upcoming Avengers films. Fans also expect Spider-Man 5 to tap into the Daredevil: Born Again storyline, with Season 3 premiering on Disney+ next March. 1. Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026)

This is the next big MCU event, with Doctor Doom as the central threat. Unlike the last two Avengers ensembles, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker isn’t expected to appear in a major way. However, Spider-Man will reportedly still show up. The film is said to open in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man universe, with Tobey Maguire’s Spidey facing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool amid an incursion with the Fox X-Men universe. 2. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse (June 18, 2027)

Sony softens the long wait with this animated finale to Miles Morales’ trilogy. Fans have waited since Across the Spider-Verse arrived in June 2023, and the film was once slated for March 2024. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller aim to stick the landing, with Spider-Man variants from across the multiverse. Since the last film used archive footage of live-action Spider-Men, a Holland cameo isn’t impossible.

3. Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027)

Spider-Man reportedly gets a bigger moment here, on a multiversal scale. Brand New Day’s post-credits scene established that he’s heading to space, which many fans read as a tease for Battleworld. Heavy rumours say both Holland and Maguire have major roles, and some theorise the two Spider-Men remember the old multiverse and help lead a rebellion against Doom. There’s no reliable word on Andrew Garfield.

4. X-Men (May 5, 2028)

This kicks off Phase 7 as the MCU’s X-Men reboot. Sadie Sink returns as Jean Grey, who debuted in Brand New Day, with Tramell Tillman’s William Metzger reportedly joining her. By the end of Brand New Day, Peter and Jean had become something of friends. But the mutants may not feel as warmly about the wall-crawler, since Peter reportedly created the greatest weapon against the new X-Men.

5. Ghost Rider (July 28, 2028)

Marvel’s second new Phase 7 franchise stars Ryan Gosling as the Spirit of Vengeance, with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy at the helm. The story is a complete mystery, and production starts in 2027. Don’t expect any Spider-Man connection, even though Peter is getting a horror redesign in the comics this year.

6. Black Panther 3 (December 15, 2028)

Ryan Coogler returns to direct the confirmed slate’s closer. David Jonsson joins as a brand new Black Panther, the son of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. Several Wakandan characters are expected back after appearing in Doomsday and Secret Wars. It will probably stay fairly standalone, but could address the fallout from Avengers 6 and what it means for Earth-616.

So When Will Spider-Man 5 Arrive?
