Sleeping Doctor K-Drama: Kim Yoon Hye, Kim Sung Cheol & Jin Ki Joo Set to Lead a Healing Medical Rom-Com You Can’t Miss

Korean drama fans, your next binge-watch obsession might just be here — and it comes wrapped in romance, medicine, and a deeply human story.

What Is Sleeping Doctor About?

Sleeping Doctor (literal title) is a human romantic comedy that follows Hong Gyeong, a psychiatrist who carries the trauma of a past sexual assault. Believing she has overcome her past, she opens the private clinic she always dreamed of — but soon begins experiencing narcolepsy, falling asleep whenever she faces patients. Her journey to healing truly begins when she crosses paths with the right person.

This isn’t just your typical medical drama — it’s a story about resilience, self-recovery, and unexpected love. Think of it as a warm hug in drama form.

Cast At a Glance

Jin Ki Joo is in talks to play Hong Gyeong, while Kim Sung Cheol is being considered for the role of Nam Ji Oh — a brilliant freelance doctor with encyclopedic medical knowledge who helps Hong Gyeong slowly step out of the shadows of her trauma.

Kim Yoon Hye has reportedly been offered the role of Jang Hye Jung, a nurse at Healer Mental Health Clinic where Hong Gyeong serves as director. Her agency confirmed she is “currently positively reviewing the offer.”

Why This Drama Could Be a Big Hit

Narcolepsy — the real neurological condition at the heart of this drama — affects millions worldwide and remains largely misunderstood. Weaving it into a rom-com format is both bold and brilliant storytelling.

With a strong trio being assembled, Sleeping Doctor has the potential to be one of 2026’s standout K-dramas. If you love emotionally rich stories like those we’ve covered on TechnoSports, this one deserves your watchlist.
