In the bustling world of Indian cinema, few films manage to capture the audience’s imagination and sustain their box office momentum. “Shaitaan,” directed by Vikas Bahl and featuring a star-studded cast with Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyothika, and Janki Bodiwala, is one such cinematic gem that has not only captivated viewers but also demonstrated remarkable box office resilience.

Shaitaan Box Office Collection: Inching towards 100 crores

A Phenomenal Second Saturday

Ajay Devgn’s movie has been the talk of the town since its release, thanks to its intriguing storyline, stellar performances, and top-notch direction. However, it’s the film’s financial performance that’s currently making headlines. On its second Saturday, “Shaitaan” witnessed an impressive 75% growth in its box office collections, netting around Rs 8.75 crores. This significant jump brings the film’s 9-day cumulative total to a whopping Rs 94.25 crores.

Racing Towards the 100 Crore Club

With such strong numbers, “Shaitaan” is all set to cruise into the prestigious Rs 100 crore nett club in India by its 10th day. But the ambitions for this supernatural thriller don’t stop here; the film aims to reach and perhaps even surpass the Rs 150 crore mark. Considering its current trajectory, these targets seem well within reach.

A Competitive Landscape

Despite facing stiff competition from other releases like “Yodha” and “Kung Fu Panda 4,” “Shaitaan” has managed to hold its ground and remain the preferred choice among moviegoers in India for the second consecutive week. This achievement speaks volumes about the film’s appeal and the team’s efforts behind its success.

International Performance and Future Prospects

While “Shaitaan” has been a smash hit in India, its international performance has been modest, with projections estimating it will hit 3 million dollars internationally by its 10th day. However, the global box office collection is expected to reach around Rs 210 crore, solidifying “Shaitaan” as a profitable venture for all involved.

Currently ranked as the fifth highest grosser of 2024 worldwide, “Shaitaan” is on its way to surpassing other titles to secure the third spot. With profits already rolling in before its release, the film’s success ensures that Ajay Devgn and the rest of the team will be celebrating a profit of around Rs 100 crores.

Conclusion

“Shaitaan” stands as a testament to the power of compelling storytelling, stellar performances, and effective marketing. As it continues its triumphant box office run, this supernatural thriller not only sets new benchmarks for success but also reiterates the enduring appeal of quality cinema. With each passing day, “Shaitaan” further cements its place in the annals of Indian cinematic history as a true box office sensation.
