RTX Remix Gets Supercharged: Ray Reconstruction Made Easier with NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 and New Toolkit Features

In classic game remakes, be prepared for a revolution! NVIDIA has released a powerful new update for its RTX Remix Open Beta, which enables modders to make stunning Ray Reconstruction that are easier and more accurate than ever before.

This update brings the groundbreaking NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction technology to the table, significantly boosting the visual quality of ray tracing in older games.

Unleashing the Power of Ray Tracing: DLSS 3.5 Makes a Splash in RTX Remix

Previously introduced in Portal with RTX, DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction utilizes the power of AI to dramatically improve the quality of ray-traced graphics. With this innovative technology, an artificial intelligence model trained on a massive dataset of scenarios replaces traditional noisemakers. This makes it possible to create clearer, more detailed images that have a minimal impact on performance.

This is an important advantage to modders who use RTX Remix. In a game, the AI behind Ray Reconstruction can automatically adapt to different lighting conditions and environments, eliminating the need for boring manual adjustments. This allows modders to concentrate on the creative aspects of their remake, freeing valuable time and resources.

Beyond Ray Tracing: New Toolkit Enhancements Streamline the Modding Process

Beyond improved visual effects, the latest RTX Remix update goes much further. In order to simplify the modding process, NVIDIA has also introduced a number of new features:

Improved Performance on Steam Deck and Linux AMD Systems:

Mod developer “pixelcluster” has optimized RTX Remix for RADV drivers, leading to smoother performance for users on Steam Deck and Linux with AMD GPUs.

Enhanced Distant Light Consistency:

Thanks to the work of mod developer “mmdanggg2,” distant lights in RTX Remix projects now update consistently even when repositioned or modified. This ensures accurate lighting throughout the game world.

Left-Handed Coordinate System Support:

Mod developer “jdswebb” has introduced compatibility with games that use a left-handed coordinate system, allowing for proper terrain baking and other essential features.

Streamlined Texture Tagging:

“xoxor4d,” another talented mod developer, has significantly improved the texture tagging process within RTX Remix. This makes it easier for modders to properly configure game assets for optimal ray tracing effects.

Enhanced Object Tracking:

“xoxor4d” has also implemented a new option to utilize AABBs (Axis-Aligned Bounding Boxes) for improved instance differentiation. This reduces ghosting and flickering artifacts, resulting in smoother animations and character movements.

The Future of Classic Games Looks Bright

The future of classic games is looking incredibly promising, thanks to the release of DLSS 3.5 and Ray Reconstruction as well as continued improvements in RTX Remix.

With powerful tools at their disposal, modders now have the ability to create stunning visual enhancements of our favorite titles and gamers can go back into these classics with a whole new level of detail and speed.

It’s an exciting time for the modding community, and we can’t wait to see the amazing creations that emerge from this powerful combination of RTX Remix and DLSS 3.5.
