Reliable leaker Billbil-kun from Dealabs has confirmed the anticipated pricing structure for both Xbox handheld variants. The ROG Xbox Ally will be priced at €599 while the ROG Xbox Ally X commands €899, though US pricing remains unconfirmed.

| ROG Xbox Ally X | €899 | August 20, 2025 | Hands-on demos |
| US Pricing | TBA | Same timeline | Regional reveal pending |
Gamescom 2025 Showcase Strategy
Microsoft is strategically positioning the announcement during prime gaming season. Xbox will feature the handhelds during its two-day broadcasts on August 20-21, with potential pricing reveals happening during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19.
The timing creates perfect synergy between announcement, hands-on demonstrations, and immediate pre-order availability – a masterclass in product launch coordination.
Hollow Knight Silksong Connection
Gaming speculation is reaching fever pitch around a potential Silksong release tie-in. When the ROG Xbox Ally was revealed, it featured Silksong playing on the device, and Xbox’s Gamescom lineup includes a playable Silksong demo specifically on the Xbox Ally.
Industry observers theorize that Xbox plans to launch its handheld after Silksong’s release, ensuring day-one compatibility with one of gaming’s most anticipated titles.
Official Xbox Partnership Benefits
This collaboration between ASUS and Microsoft brings several advantages:
- Native Xbox ecosystem integration
- Optimized handheld gaming experience
- Full screen Xbox interface designed for portability
- Access to Xbox Game Pass library on-the-go
The partnership represents Microsoft’s serious entry into the handheld gaming market, directly competing with Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch.
