Did Rishab Shetty Just Hit Unfollow on the Entire Kantara World? Here’s What We Know

A single unfollow on Instagram shouldn’t mean much — but when it involves the man behind one of Indian cinema’s biggest cultural moments, the internet sits up and takes notice. Rishab Shetty has reportedly unfollowed his former co-stars Rukmini Vasanth and Raj B Shetty on Instagram, with his following list no longer showing their names — a discovery first reported by Bangalore Times that quickly set off speculation among Kannada film fans.

The Unfollow Trail — What Actually Happened

This report surfaced at a time when Shetty had also unfollowed the Kantara makers and production company Hombale Films on Instagram. However, it remains unclear whether there is a genuine rift between them or if it was simply a routine unfollow without any specific reason.

What makes the pattern harder to dismiss is the specificity of it — while Rishab unfollowed Hombale Films as an entity, he continues to follow its head, Vijay Kiragandur, on social media. That distinction is curious and suggests this may not be entirely accidental.

Neither Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, nor Raj B Shetty has issued any official statement. Until then, this is speculation worth watching.

Their Kantara Connection

Kantara: Chapter 1, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, is set centuries before the original film and follows a ruthless king who invades a peaceful tribal land rich in spices, only for divine spirits Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva to intervene and protect the innocent. Bollywood Hungama Rukmini Vasanth and Raj B Shetty both played key roles in the film alongside Rishab.

To understand the cultural scale of the Kantara franchise and why any internal shift matters so much to its fanbase, Wikipedia’s detailed entry provides essential context.
