Reliance AGM 2026: The most anticipated stock market debut in Indian history just got real — and that’s only half the story from this year’s AGM.
Every year, the Reliance AGM feels less like a shareholder meeting and more like a glimpse into India’s next decade. This year was no exception. Reliance Industries held its 49th Annual General Meeting on June 19, 2026, with Chairman Mukesh Ambani unveiling a technology-led growth roadmap that positions the conglomerate at the center of India’s next phase of digital and technological transformation. Here’s everything that mattered.

The Big One: Reliance Jio IPO Is Finally Happening

Mukesh Ambani confirmed that Jio Platforms’ Draft Red Herring Prospectus will be filed with SEBI today, bringing the much-awaited Jio IPO a giant step closer to reality. He termed it a “deeply emotional moment” and noted that Akash, Isha, and Anant Ambani are leading the Jio IPO process. The Jio IPO will consist of a fresh issue of up to 27 crore shares.

AI Is Now Reliance’s Core Bet
This year’s real headline wasn’t telecom — it was AI. Reliance wants AI built in India, in India, supporting 22 Indian languages, rather than depending on tech developed overseas. The company has committed $110 billion in AI investment over seven years for massive infrastructure.
The MyJio platform is being upgraded from a conventional app into a personal AI agent. Jio is also bringing AI directly into phone calls — ask it to share a transcript, and it’ll generate summaries and reminders automatically, alongside booking cabs and ordering food.
To power this, Reliance launched new AI platforms including Jio TeleFrame and Jio Call Agent tools, alongside a Meta partnership to build an AI data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. For more on how Indian conglomerates are racing into AI infrastructure, see our coverage of India’s AI data center boom.
Partnerships With Google, Meta, and NVIDIA
Reliance is going all-in on a multi-partner AI ecosystem — Google AI Pro powered by Gemini for consumers, and Meta’s Llama models powering business-facing AI services, all running on NVIDIA GB300 infrastructure on Indian soil, powered entirely by clean energy.
Google used the stage too, showcasing Gemini 3.5 Live Translate for real-time voice translation across 70+ languages, Gemini 3.1 Flash Text-to-Speech, and Project Vaani — a massive effort that has collected over 31,000 hours of speech data across 109 Indian languages to build better Indian-language AI tools. Check out our explainer on Gemini’s latest capabilities.
Beyond Telecom: Satellite, Broadband, and Entertainment
Jio is exploring its own sovereign LEO satellite constellation while simultaneously leasing capacity from global operators. On the ground, JioAirFiber is delivering gigabit broadband with up to 5 Gbps download speeds, with more than 60,000 new home connections being added daily.
On the entertainment side, JioHotstar has become the world’s No. 2 streaming platform, now boasting 451 million monthly active users and a world-record concurrent viewership during the T20 World Cup. Jio Studios, meanwhile, is now India’s No. 1 content studio by revenue and box office market share — worth a deeper look in our JioHotstar streaming wars coverage.
Beyond Tech: Retail, Energy, and Nita Ambani’s Vision
RIL is also developing a future-ready, modern garment manufacturing system aimed at higher-quality apparel with modern production scale and cost efficiencies. Meanwhile, the company is doubling down on solar, batteries, green hydrogen, and green ammonia — clean energy bets expected to create around 2 lakh new jobs.
Nita Ambani closed things out on a civic note, announcing a 410-acre AI-focused university, a world-class medical city in Mumbai, and reaffirming the goal of bringing the Olympics to India. She also noted that Reliance Foundation has touched the lives of over 97 million Indians across nearly a hundred thousand villages over the last 16 years.
The Bottom Line
This wasn’t just another AGM — it was Reliance formally declaring its next decade: an AI-first, India-built tech ecosystem riding on the back of the Jio IPO. With SEBI papers now filed, satellite ambitions in motion, and $110 billion earmarked for AI infrastructure, Reliance isn’t just chasing telecom dominance anymore — it’s positioning itself as India’s AI backbone.
