Redmi can soon launch a Dimensity 2000 based smartphone

MediaTek introduced its Dimensity 1200 6nm SoC earlier this year and the Dimensity 2000 5nm SoC was rumored for Q1, but it didn’t happen. MediaTek is already at work on its new flagship Dimensity 2000 processor. Now, the news is coming that Redmi will launch a Dimensity 2000 based smartphone in the near future.

Redmi’s general manager Lu Weibing posted on Weibo that there are a series of discussions among Redmi fans about the chipset and what it might bring to the brand. So Redmi may launch a smartphone in the future with Dimensity 2000.

To presume to answer that question based on the latest leaks, this involves a cutting-edge 4nm architecture with a complement of cores to rival that of the “Snapdragon 898” and the alleged power to match. Accordingly, it just might make an extremely worthwhile contribution to, say, the Redmi K or Note lines in the near future.

Apart from this, we knew that Dimensity 2000 would adopt the new ARM V9 architecture and the new Cortex-X2 core. Therefore, the performance of this SoC is no different from that of the Qualcomm chip. Compared to the Cortex X1 core used in the Snapdragon 888, the performance of the X2 core is also improved by at least 17%. Power consumption is expected to be reduced by 10%, which means an overall improvement in energy efficiency. In addition, improving the performance of the A710 and A510 cores is also very important.

Recall that MediaTek Dimensity 2000 will be built based on a 4-nanometer TSMC/Samsung processor and will use ARM V9 architecture. In addition, SoC has attributed a significant performance gain, as well as improved energy efficiency.

Although, these rumors are still largely based on rumors, and the promise of the Dimensity 2000 may come to not all that much in reality.
