Realme GT 5 and GT Neo 6: All We Know So Far

Realme, a prominent smartphone brand in China, is actively working on the development of two new smartphone series. The most recent major launch from Realme was the Realme GT Neo 5 in China, which was later rebranded as Realme GT 3 and unveiled at MWC 2023 for global markets. However, the smartphone has not yet been made available for purchase worldwide. Additionally, Realme had launched another smartphone in the GT Neo 5 series, called GT Neo 5 SE, but it has also not been released in global markets.

Realme GT 5 and GT Neo 6

Recently, renders of the upcoming Realme GT Neo 6 smartphone were exclusively revealed by MySmartPrice. Furthermore, Realme officially disclosed the launch timeline of its upcoming Realme GT 5 and GT Neo 6 series smartphones.

The Anticipated Realme GT 5 and GT Neo 6 Series

According to a post on Realme’s Weibo account, the Realme GT 5 series smartphones will be launched in the second half of 2023 in China. The teaser also hinted at the launch of the Realme GT Neo 6 series smartphones, which will also be available in global markets. However, specific details about the upcoming smartphones have not been divulged by the company.

A tip from Digital Chat Station indicates that the Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone will be equipped with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, making it a full-fledged flagship device from Realme. In contrast, the vanilla GT 5 model will feature the current flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Nevertheless, further specifications of the GT 5 series smartphones remain undisclosed at present.

The Realme GT Neo 6 and Neo 6 Pro were recently spotted in 3C and TENAA certifications with model numbers RMX3820 and RMX3823. The 3C listing suggests that these smartphones will support fast charging technologies with power ratings of 150W and 240W, respectively. As for the display, both devices will feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2772 × 1240 pixels.

Under the hood, an octa-core chipset clocked at 3.2GHz will power both devices, likely the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The smartphones are expected to come with RAM options of 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB, coupled with storage variants of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and even 1TB. The devices will run on Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 13 out of the box and will feature a triple rear camera setup.

In terms of camera specifications, the vanilla GT Neo 6 and GT Neo 6 Pro will sport a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, there will be a 16MP front-facing camera located within a punch-hole cutout on the display.

The dimensions and weight of the vanilla GT Neo 6 will be approximately 163.1×75.38×8.86mm and 205 grams, respectively, while the Pro variant will have slightly different dimensions and weigh around 4500 mAh. The vanilla GT Neo 6 will be backed by a dual-cell 2540 mAh (equivalent to 5000 mAh) battery, and the Pro variant will have a dual-cell 2225 mAh (equivalent to 4500 mAh) battery.
