Realme 8i and Realme 8s 5G launched in India

Realme launched the much-awaited Realme 8i and Realme 8s devices in India on Thursday, September 9 as the latest models in the Realme 8 Series.

Following are the specs of the Realme 8i and the 8s 5G:

Realme 8i

The Realme 8i features a 6.6″ full-HD+ 1080 x 2412p display with 90.80% screen-to-body ratio. It has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and Dragontrail Pro protection. The display can go from 600 nits to 1 nit with the latter being the lowest.

It also comes with a dynamic refresh rate that has six different levels ranging from 30Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120hz. The display has a touch sampling rate of 180Hz.

Under the hood, the realme 8i has an octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 SoC that was released in July. This chipset is coupled with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The 6GB RAM version of the phone also supports 5GB Virtual RAM that enhances multitasking by using the phone’s free storage.

Coming to the camera, the Realme 8i carries a triple rear camera setup that has a 50MP primary Samsung S5KJN1 sensor, along with a 2MP monochrome portrait sensor and a 2MP sensor with a macro lens. The smartphone features a 16MP selfie camera that supports AI-backed functions.

The Realme 8i comes with 128GB of storage onboard and supports expansion as well via the microSD card, up to 256GB through a dedicated slot. Coming to the connectivity options, it supports 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, and has a micro-USB port.

Coming to the sensors, Realme has provided an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. The phone also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, the 8i has a 5,000mAh battery along with support for 18W fast charging.

It has been priced at 13,999 INR for the 4GB+64GB variant and 15,999 INR for the 6GB+138GB variant.

The first sale begins at 12 PM on the 14th of September, the device is available in space black and space blue colors.

Realme 8s

The Realme 8s 5G is the first device in the world to debut the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. It brings an octa-core CPU with up to 2.4GHz speeds and a Mali-G57 GPU. It also has two LPDDR4X RAM options, a 6GB and an 8GB option. It comes with 128GB of storage with an option to expand via a microSD card all the way to 256GB.

The realme 8s 5G has a triple-camera setup on the rear with a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, while the other two are 2MP sensors, one for B&W, and the other for macro shots.

Coming to the front camera, the realme 8s has a 16MP selfie shooter, the device has a 6.5″ LCD screen with a punch-hole display, and a refresh rate of 90Hz along with a Full HD+ display.

The device has a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging via a USB Type-C port.

The device has connectivity options for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, and runs on Realmi UI 2.0 based on Android 11 OS.

The device is available in Universal Blue and Universal Purple colors. It retails for 17,999 INR for the base variant whereas the higher storage variant costs 19,999 INR.

The first sale is on the 13th of September at 12 noon. It will be available on Flipkart, Realme, and select retailers.
