Real Madrid were drawn against Liverpool in the quarter-finals which was supposed to be their hardest game without Sergio Ramos, Varane, Carvajal and Hazard and the El Clasico played between the two legs. But Zidane’s masterclass saw them come out with flying colours after winning both the Champions League tie against Liverpool and the El Clasico.
Although Zidane’s men have drawn their last two La Liga matches, they are a whole new different team while playing in the Champions League. With the La Liga title almost impossible to defend, winning the Champions League is the best chance of silverware for Real Madrid.
On the other hand, Chelsea have improved leaps and bounds under Thomas Tuchel and they can upset any team on their day. So Real Madrid will have to be very aware of the threat.
It will also be exciting to see Hazard back in action and, most importantly, against his former club with whom he had a very successful time in England.
