Journey of ‘Mardaani’ Franchise

The original ‘Mardaani’ film, released in 2014, was a significant success, leading to the release of a sequel in 2019. Rani Mukerji’s portrayal of Shivani Shivaji Roy was central to the film’s success, bringing a unique blend of toughness and compassion to the role. The announcement of ‘Mardaani 3’ comes as a continuation of this successful journey, promising to deliver more of the powerful storytelling that fans have come to expect.

Mukerji’s Reflections on Sequel Challenges

Reflecting on her experience with the ‘Mardaani’ franchise, Mukerji shared her initial concerns about doing sequels. “When I did ‘Mardaani 2’, I was quite nervous because I had never done a sequel before,” she admitted. Mukerji explained how she initially wondered if she could successfully reprise the role, but was pleasantly surprised by how much she enjoyed it. “I was surprised that I enjoyed reprising the part. So now I have tasted blood. So now I want to reprise it again in 3,” she added, highlighting her eagerness to continue the character’s story.

What to Expect from ‘Mardaani 3’

As ‘Mardaani 3’ progresses, there is a great deal of anticipation regarding the new narrative and challenges Shivani Shivaji Roy will face. Mukerji has hinted at the importance of a strong script, stating, “I will be very happy and excited if the ‘Mardaani 3’ script comes about really something that we would make a film.
