Paresh Rawal Reveals the Untold OMG 2 Story He Walked Away From

Sometimes the story behind the film is more dramatic than the film itself. Years after skipping OMG 2 despite starring in the original, Paresh Rawal has finally revealed the real reason — and it involves Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and a script that was never meant to be a sequel at all. The Original Idea Wasn’t Even a Sequel

Rawal revealed that he conceived the story himself with director Amit Rai, envisioning a standalone film about a boy caught masturbating on video, whose father — a tourist guide near the Khajuraho temple — fights for his son’s dignity. The two even brought sexologist Dr. Prakash Kothari on board to make the film educational rather than vulgar. Crucially, Rawal insisted the story needed a human guiding figure, not a divine one — unlike the first OMG, where the plot centered on a case against God himself, a concept rooted in the mythology explored on Wikipedia’s overview of the film OMG: Oh My God!.

Paresh Rawal: Overview

Why He Walked Away

According to Rawal, both Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn declined the biker role due to the unconventional subject matter. Things shifted when Amit Rai approached Akshay Kumar and producer Ashwin Varde — at which point the script was reworked as an official OMG 2, reintroducing the divine angle Rawal had specifically wanted to avoid. Despite Akshay personally trying to convince him to join, Rawal refused, staying true to his original creative vision. He also expressed disappointment that he received no story or concept credit in the final film. Stay tuned to TechnoSports for more entertainment industry stories.
