Bhooth Bangla — Key Details

“Good Scripts Are Everything” — Paresh Rawal Speaks His Mind

At the trailer launch, Paresh Rawal was asked how comedy has evolved in Hindi cinema and what changes he’d like to see. His answer was sharp and direct: good scripts are the only way forward.

Rawal said, “We need to get good scripts, only then we’ll enjoy it.” But it was his next observation that really landed — he pointed out that the real competition for comedy films isn’t other movies. It’s television. When you think about it, he’s absolutely right. Why would audiences leave their couch when they can watch Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover make them cry with laughter for free?

That’s a brutal but honest diagnosis of the challenge facing Bollywood comedy films today. It raises the stakes for Bhooth Bangla considerably — this isn’t just about beating another blockbuster at the box office. It’s about convincing people that big-screen laughter is worth paying for.

Why Bhooth Bangla Could Change the Equation

The film marks Priyadarshan’s second Hindi horror-comedy following the cult classic Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), reuniting the same core team of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, and Manoj Joshi. Wikipedia That’s a reunion 19 years in the making — and nostalgia alone could pull in millions.

Paresh Rawal also boldly claimed the film surpasses Bhool Bhulaiyaa, praising its emotional depth and stunning cinematography. NewsBytes If that’s true, Bollywood comedy might just win back its audience from the TV sofa.
