Arsenal close to signing Martin Odegaard on loan

0

Arsenal has been dealing with creative issues throughout the ongoing season and has long been rumored to be in the market for an attack-minded midfielder. That demand is almost on the verge of being fulfilled.

Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendia was one of the names linked with a move to London most strongly, but that attention has now subsided. Arsenal is now set to complete the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard on a loan deal till the end of the season.

The Norwegian wonderkid has been spending a lot of time on the Real Madrid bench, and asked to leave the club this week in order to get more playing time, which is essential to a talented young player, 22 years old.

Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano covered the issue on his social media handles, saying that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had personally had a word with the player, and that Odegaard needs some time to make up his mind.

The move is nearing the famous “here we go” territory, which, for those unfamiliar with Romano’s work, means that the transfer is as good as done and will surely be announced by the club in the next few days.

Odegaard’s last loan club, Real Sociedad, was in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid, but the youngster has decided to give priority to the move to England. The next few weeks will be key in determining the future of this rumored deal.

Huawei’s Kirin 9000 chips to power P50 and Mate 50 series smartphones?

0

Huawei, the Chinese multinational technology company, has been one of the most severely affected companies due to restrictions caused by the US government. These restrictions have come after the long tussle going on between the two national governments due to the trade policies.

HiSilicon Kirin 9000, the chipset from Huawei, has been launched recently. This HiSilicon Kirin 9000 can be the last flagship SoC from the Chinese company for some time. The smartphones from the Huawei P40 series are powered by HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC. Earlier, people expected that this series to be the last with this SoC but the new reports floating in tells us another story.

Huawei executive has stated that a large chunk of these mobile processors are saved so that they can be used in the future smartphone of companies. They might feature in the upcoming P50 series and Mate 50 series. Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000e chipsets both are reported to support the smartphones coming in the Huawei P50 series.

The good news from the company’s side is that they haven’t stopped investing in research and development (R&D). This is very important for any smartphone company. Huawei is majorly known for its magnificent camera performance and they have done well to improve it over the years.

People expect the new smartphone series to come in different variants. The most standard variant can have a refresh rate of 90Hz whereas the luxury variant can have a refresh rate of 120Hz. Similarly, the high-end variant can support 135W charging as compared to the low-end’s 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Huawei is also expected to continue using the Leica lens. The P50 series and Mate 50 series are expected to have similar camera features but the former smartphone might have better zoom capabilities. Do you think that the change in the leadership of the US government can ease restrictions placed on Huawei? Or will the democrats be more strict and make the business atmosphere tougher for the leading Chinese company? Let us know in the comments below!

0

Samsung Exynos 2100 has been launched recently and the first smartphone to feature has got be the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It also features the Snapdragon 888 for US customers as well, so previously there was a huge difference in performance between Exynos and Snapdragon chipsets but things have finally changed in 2021.

The South Korean giant has taken a leap forward in terms of performance as we did a detailed comparison between the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and the Samsung Exynos 2100. However, although all seems good on paper how does Exynos 2100 perform against Snapdragon 888 in real-world tests?

Exynos 2100 is a worthy competitor of Snapdragon 888 shows Galaxy S21 Ultra Speed Test

A new speed test conducted by SpeedTest G shows how the Galaxy S21 Ultra with both different chipset competes against each other. As you see in the test the Exynos 2100 is very close to the Snapdragon 888 when it comes to real-world scenarios.

If you do a breakdown of the strengths of both chipsets you’ll see the Samsung Exynos 2100 taking less time in CPU side of things, while the Snapdragon 888 with its Adreno 660 GPU is leading against Samsung’s 14-core Mali-G78 GPU. There’s only a difference of 8 seconds and this shows how Samsung has improved in leaps and bounds.

I bet with the partnership with AMD, surely, Samsung’s next chipset will have a powerful graphics to compete Snapdragon chipsets. You can see the detailed comparison video here:

Google has Threatened to Disable its search engine in Australia in response to a Landmark Law

0

Google threatened to disable its search service for Australias unless the government changed landmark legislation where Google is forced to pay local publishers for news. The legislation was introduced last year and is one of the most aggressive moves globally to check the power of the US tech giant.

Google Australia managing director Mel Silva described the law as “unworkable” and warned a Senate committee in Canberra on Friday that the world-first media law would undermine the functioning of the internet. She opposed the condition that Google pay media companies for displaying excerpts of articles in search results.

This is Google’s most powerful threat, yet as the digital giant tries to stem a flow of regulatory action worldwide, such a radical step would see its rivals taking over an entirely developed market. According to the local competition regulator, at least 94% of online searches in Australia go through the Alphabet Inc. unit.

“We don’t respond to threats,” Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison said Friday, according to Bloomberg. “Australia makes our rules for things you can do in Australia. That’s done in our parliament. It’s done by our government. And that’s how things work here in Australia.”

Along with Google, Facebook Inc. is also targeted by the legislation. The social media platform also opposes the law and reiterated at Friday’s hearing that it is considering blocking Australians from sharing news on Facebook if the law is pushed through.

The legislation is designed in a way that it supports the local media industry, including Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., which has struggled to adapt to the digital economy. Senator Andrew Bragg accused Google of trying to blackmail Australians and policymakers as the tech giant’s tougher stance drew rebukes from lawmakers at the hearing.

“If this version of the code were to become law, it would give us no real choice but to stop making Google Search available in Australia,” Silva told a panel of senators. She described the law as an “untenable financial and operational precedent.”

But Google has faced similar requests in other countries and it has adapted to it without cutting off the search engine. The California-based company stopped showing news results from European publishers for French users on search results last year as they were urged to pay for content by local regulators, and then on Thursday, the firm said it reached a deal to pay media publishers in the country. In 2014, following new copyright legislation, it shuttered Google News in Spain.

‘Control and Power’

Johan Lidberg, an associate professor at Melbourne’s Monash University called Google a corporate bully, “It’s about control and power,” Lidberg, who specializes in media and journalism, said. “They’re signaling to other regulators they’ll have a fight on their hands if they do this.”

Silva proposed Google’s News Showcase was proposed by Silva as an alternative to the Australian legislation, in this arrangement, the company pays select media outlets to display curated content. Senator Bragg said it was impossible to assess its value to the local market since the service isn’t available in Australia.

“All we’ve got today is your threats and your blackmail,” he told Silva.

Research finds that Gaming is helpful for Kids Fighting Cancer

0

According to Juegaterapia Foundation’s study, gaming is objectively good for kids who are fighting cancer. It was published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.

This scientific research was arranged in the Hospital La Paz (Madrid) and came up with the following points:

  • 20% less morphine while playing games

These children felt objectively reduced pain and it was measured a 20% decrease in the daily usage of morphine. This refers to basal pain, but also, it’s the general mood, with a 44% reduction in incidental pain. With the help of the Visual Analogue Scale, this was measured.

  • 14% increase in parasympathetic tone, which favors recovery

When a human body faces a physical threat, it activates the sympathetic system to help the body flee the perceived aggression. But, due to an increase in heart rate and arterial tension affects the human body negatively at the same time. To counter the situation, the way is to activate the parasympathetic system that favors physiological recovery.

  • 14% decrease in pain

Those children with cancer who were suffering mucositis were offered to play video games while they were monitored by two devices: one is the Analgesia-Nociception Index (ANI R), which measures heart rates, and video-pupilmetrics Algiscan R. The result shows a pain relief of 14% and increase of parasympathetic tone by 14%.

Francisco Reinoso-Barbero, Head of the Pain Management Unit in the Children’s Hospital La Paz (Madrid) and co-author of this research, said, “The medical implication of these discoveries are important because video games could become a part of the non-pharmacological therapeutical plan against pediatric cancer mucusitis.”

Mario Alonso Puig added (M.D., public speaker, and honorific trustee of the Juegaterpia Foundation), “When a child is engrossed in a game they love, this whole process of generating disturbing thoughts, pain, and anxiety stops. Thanks to being fully wrapped up in the game, children activate their parasympathetic system. This second area of the vegetative nervous system has two functions: on the one hand, it favors social interaction; on the other, it helps to keep the internal balance of the organism, the homeostasis, which in turn reduces the wear of other body organs.”

Now related to this study, there is a documentary film named “When you play chemo flyes by”. This documentary is available on Filmin and Amazon Prime Video.

AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS posts impressive Geekbench scores at 35W TDP

0

AMD has just announced its new Ryzen 9 5980HS processor for gaming laptops at CES 2021, and it is the first time we have spotted it on Geekbench. The AMD Ryzen 5000 mobile processors are great for gaming and it is evident from the amazing Zen 3 architecture we’ve seen with the desktop line of processors.

We do still have the Ryzen 5000HS processors with 35W TDP and normal H series with 45W TDP. So, among the HS series, the AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS is the top-of-the-line APU with all 8 cores and 16 threads along with 3.3 GHz base and 4.8 GHz boost clock speeds.

Thanks to @TUM_APISAK, we have the Ryzen 9 5980HS processor on Geekbench scoring 1532 points in single-core whereas making 8219 points in multi-threaded performance. This performance in multi-core even beats the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G desktop processor or even the Core i7-10700.

Whereas in the single-core, the Ryzen 9 5980HS edges out with the Intel Core i7-11370H, and the higher boost frequencies shall help in gaming a lot in all the upcoming processors. We cannot wait to test out these new gaming processors in action; an exciting year lies in & ahead of 2021!!

Realme X7, X7 Pro India retail box designs teased, indicating an imminent launch

0

Now, it is too much from Realme. The whole of India has been eagerly waiting for the Realme X7 and X7 Pro handsets and Madhav Sheth (Realme CEO) has been keeping posting different teasers almost every day about the X7 series, but unfortunately, the main smartphones keep delaying. Recently, Madhav Sheth has posted the box packaging designs of the X7 series and asked its users which is going to be the one to carry the X7 and X7 Pro handsets. Apart from the retail boxes, we’ve been confirmed as well that there will be definitely a charger inside. So, it will be not the case with the iPhone 12, Samsung S21, or Mi 11 smartphones.

Let’s try to breakdown the retail boxes image that Madhav Sheth has posted in his tweet. We can see that there are multiple packaging boxes images of a lot of designs of X7 and X7 Pro with Black, Silver, Yellow accents. The third design from the bottom right represents the C color gradient of the X7 smartphone that launched in China.

As of now, we are not confirmed that what is going to be the ultimate design Realme is going to use for the packaging of its X7 series in India. For the Chinese one, the design was quite simple, but this time, it seems to be a bit different from earlier. Moreover, Koustabh Das, Senior Communications Specialist of Realme, has confirmed in a tweet that the X7 and X7 Pro will arrive with a charger inside the box. On the other hand, the rumors and leaks are saying that it will be a 65W faster-charging adapter to come inside the box of the X7 series.

In terms of the other specifications, the X7 and X7 will be launched with 6.4 and 6.55-inch AMOLED 120Hz display respectively and in terms of chipsets, the X7 is said to be powered by the Dimensity 800U chipset whereas the Pro variant is likely to arrive with the Dimensity 1000+ chipset. In both cases, there will be a 64MP quad rear camera setup (or, something more could happen) and for selfies, there will be a 32Mp selfie snapper ta the front.

The exact launch date of the Realme X7 series in India has not been confirmed by the company, but leaks are saying that it would be unveiled early next week/First week of February.

Genesis develops Trade Capture Application, FX Prime, in partnership with XP Investments

Genesis Global Technology, a UK capital markets software provider, has launched an application named FX Prime, a trade capture application for foreign exchange and rates trading desks with prime broker integration.

The application captures voice business and streams the trade activity to the prime broker directly; it supports FX options trade capture for single- and multi-leg strategies, as well as FX forwards, FX spot, FX non-deliverable forwards (NDFs), FX swap, FX NDF swaps, and interest rate swaps deals.

The application was developed in partnership with XP Investments on the Genesis low-code application platform (LCAP). XP investments is a US-based subsidiary of Brazilian broker-dealer XP Investimentos, which selected Genesis as its LCAP provider last year.

“FX Prime is further evidence not only of how they understand our FX trading desk requirements but can design, develop, and seamlessly integrate FX Prime with our existing technology stack in less than a month,” said Eduardo Hargreaves, head of FX and rates agency desk at XP Investments, according to The Trade.

“We have been able to proactively adapt to the changing market requirements and deploy at speed. This delivery capability has a direct impact on our ability not only to serve existing clients but also attract and win new business, and Genesis is most definitely a strategic technology partner for us that adds tremendous value for the firm and our clients.”

The London-based company’s LCAP gained backing from major institutions in recent months. US investment bank Citi is the most recent investment; Citi plans to deploy LCAP for innovation projects.

“Every investment firm is under pressure not only to optimize their operating processes but also to deploy new products and services to clients that are demanding innovation and digital capabilities,” said Stephen Murphy, chief executive officer at Genesis.

“This is exactly what our LCAP platform is designed to deliver, and we are delighted to be playing our part as XP Investments serves its clients across North America and Latin America.”

Genesis Technology’s Stock Zoomed 128% in the Last Three Years

The interaction between a company’s share price and its earnings per share (EPS) is one way to examine how market sentiment has changed over time.

44% per year EPS growth was found for Genesis Technology over three years, sending the share price higher is higher than the 32% average annual increase in the share price. So it is reasonable to conclude that the market has cooled on the stock.

The total shareholder return (TSR) and the share price return are also important to consider for any given stock. According to Simply Wall Street News, “the TSR incorporates the value of any spin-offs or discounted capital raisings, along with any dividends, based on the assumption that the dividends are reinvested.” So generous dividend-paying companies have a higher TSR than the share price return. In the case of Genesis Technology, it has had a TSR of 143% for the last 3 years, which exceeds its share price return, and the dividends paid by the company have thus boosted the total shareholder return.

Nubia Red Magic 6 first look

0

Here is the first look at the Nubia Red Magic 6. The image has surfaced in Weibo and has been shared by the_tech_guy on Twitter. The phone has been pictured from the back and seems to have triple rear cameras all aligned horizontally one after another. There are mentions of AI Cameras and brandings. This phone in the image shows Tencent Games branding which indicates the partnership of the smartphone company with the gaming brand for making an ultimate gaming smartphone.

At the sides, we can also see there are vents to pass the hot air. Like the predecessor Red Magic 5, this phone seems to feature a cooling fan at the center of the phone. This will help the phone to maintain the heat balance while playing games and balancing the performance.

As of now, that phone got appeared on the Geekbench website with the model number NX669J and from that listing, we’ve come to know that this upcoming nubia Z series smartphone will run on the Android 10 OS and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM.

If we talk about the Geekbench listing scores, this upcoming smartphone has managed to score 1004 points in the single-core and 3306 points in the multi-core. As of now, nubia has not confirmed the retail name of that device. But we can expect that this device may arrive with a retail name Red Magic 6, as this phone had been teased last month with an electrochromic back panel.

Previously launched Red Magic 5S features a 6.53-inch FHD+ AMOLED display supported by a 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. So, in the case of Red Magic 6, we can definitely expect a premium display as well like the Magic 5S. We hope, in the upcoming days, nubia will surely share something more about its upcoming Z series SD 888 powered smartphone.
