What Makes This Year Special
DreamHack’s partnership with Hyderabad Comic Con creates a unique fusion where gaming meets pop culture. The event combines esports tournaments with comic book launches, cosplay showcases, music performances, and creator meet-and-greets.
Akshat Rathee, Co-founder of NODWIN Gaming, emphasized the evolution: “This October, we’re coming back bigger and bolder than ever with everything from comic book launches, spectacular cosplay showcases, music and comedy performances.”
The BYOD experience remains DreamHack’s signature attraction, offering working professionals and students a weekend gaming getaway where they can compete alongside friends, creators, and fellow enthusiasts in a true festival atmosphere.
Growing Gaming Culture in India
With over 40,000 attendees last year and a collective digital reach exceeding 330 million, Comic Con India demonstrates the massive appetite for pop culture events in India. DreamHack’s integration amplifies this by adding competitive gaming elements to traditional fandom celebrations.
For gaming enthusiasts following India’s esports growth, this event represents the maturation of gaming from niche hobby to mainstream entertainment. The inclusion of chess alongside modern games shows the broad appeal of competitive mind sports.
Ticket Information & Planning
Tickets are available through the District App, official DreamHack, and Comic Con India websites. The three-day format provides ample time to experience both competitive tournaments and casual gaming zones.
For attendees tracking gaming event trends, DreamHack’s hybrid approach of combining digital competitions with physical community experiences continues setting industry standards.
Why This Matters
DreamHack India’s 6th anniversary milestone coincides with India’s rapidly expanding gaming market. Events like these serve as cultural bridges, legitimizing gaming as both entertainment and sport while fostering community connections that extend beyond digital platforms.
