The Motorola Rizr rollable phone concept, which was unveiled at the ongoing MWC 2023, has a lot going for it. At first glance, it appears that the company is addressing the small phone, big phone conundrum. The Motorola Rizr combines the two with a rollable twist. If you’re not familiar with the mechanism, the display rolls to the top, allowing for more screen real estate.
The Motorola Rizr is easily classified as a small form when it is in its compact form because it has a 5-inch POLED display with an aspect ratio of 15:9. When the display is rolled out, its size adjusts to 6.5-inch with a 22:9 aspect ratio. The display is used throughout the Android interface, with content stretching out to the corners.
Externally, the Motorola Rizr has a very welcoming design that is reminiscent of the Razr. That is most likely why the company chose the Rizr naming scheme.

The compact design is ideal for everyday use, providing the portability that we all seek in a smaller phone. Furthermore, the extended configuration is optimal for gaming and media consumption.
The Motorola Rizr’s best feature is the secondary display on the back. When the phone is in its compact form, the secondary display is part of the rollable panel. It displays the standard notifications and widgets, as well as an always-on display that displays the date, time, and weather. Motorola added quirks to the mix because it is a concept phone. The secondary display, for example, shows a smiley or an animation facing the subject.
To roll the display up or down, the Rizr’s foldable mechanism works with a small motorised system. The concept phone has a 3,000 mAh battery, which is incompatible with the unrolled configuration. Because the concept phone contains moving parts, the device’s durability is the primary concern. Furthermore, the device does not need to see daylight anytime soon. Furthermore, the company can abandon the concept entirely.
According to a LinkedIn post by a Google India employee, recent layoffs in the company, including those in India, were not based on how well an employee performed, as people with the highest ratings and recent promotions were also fired. The employee went on to say that those who were able to keep their jobs were not necessarily better than those who were let go by Google.
The employee, in his post, wrote, “Gentle reminder that the Google layoffs, including 450+ in India, were not performance-based. The people who managed to stay (including me) are not necessarily better than those laid off. People I personally know, with the highest ratings and recent promotions, are among the ones laid off. And yes, they will add value to your team.”

The most recent information comes from leaf hobby (TLC), who tweeted the Intel Z890 PCH and Meteor Lake-S Desktop CPUs. The more pressing question is whether the Z890 PCH is designed for the next-generation LGA 1851 socket or the current LGA 1700/1800 socket.
Intel is preparing its Raptor Lake-Refresh lineup for release later this year, and Intel is known to release a refreshed platform every year.

They already have two platforms that use the LGA 1700 / 1800 socket, the 600 and 700 series, so putting the 800 series on the same socket makes little sense. As a result, the Z890 chipset is likely to debut alongside the next-generation CPU lineup for the LGA 1851 socket. The Intel LGA 1851 socket has already been leaked, and it has a similar design to the LGA 1700/1800 socket with minor differences aside from the extra contact pins.
The Intel Meteor Lake-S Desktop CPUs are also said to have four additional PCIe Gen 5.0 lanes, which could be dedicated to a Gen 5 SSD. Currently, Z790 motherboards with PCIe 5 SSD support must share lanes with the PCIe x16 slot. The CPU lanes are divided into x16 (Gen 5) for dGPU, x4 (Gen 5) for M.2, and x4 (Gen 4) for M.2. The Intel Meteor Lake-S CPUs, like its Raptor Lake predecessor, are said to lack AVX-512 support.
