IND W vs SA W : India Falls Short in T20I Opener Against South Africa by 12 Runs: A Triple Blow in Batting, Bowling and Fielding

IND W vs SA W :In a dramatic turn of events, the Indian women’s cricket team faced their first defeat in the ongoing T20I series against South Africa. Despite their previous dominance in the one off Test and ODI series, the Women in Blue struggled to maintain their momentum in the shorter format. The loss was a result of lackluster performances in all three departments: batting, bowling, and fielding.

Let’s have a look into more details: IND W vs SA W

Match Summary

Winning the toss, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur opted to bowl first, hoping to leverage the spin friendly Chepauk pitch. However, the decision backfired as South African openers, Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits, laid a solid foundation. Wolvaardt’s aggressive 33 off 22 balls and Brits’ brilliant 81 off 56 balls set the stage for a formidable total.

Marizanne Kapp’s power packed finish, scoring 57 runs off just 33 balls, propelled South Africa to a challenging total of 189. The Indian fielders had a rough day, dropping crucial catches and missing key run out opportunities, allowing the visitors to capitalize on the lapses.

Chasing a daunting target of 190, the Indian openers came out all guns blazing. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma put up a fiery start, scoring 54 runs in the first five overs. However, the momentum shifted drastically after Shafali’s dismissal for 14.

Mandhana continued her assault, scoring a quickfire 46 off 30 balls, but her wicket triggered a middle order collapse. Despite a valiant effort from Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur, who added crucial runs towards the end, India fell short by 12 runs. Jemimah’s explosive 18 runs in the penultimate over gave India a glimmer of hope, but the final over proved too challenging, needing 21 runs to win.

Analyzing the Performance: What Went Wrong?

India’s fielding was far from their best. Dropped catches and missed opportunities significantly contributed to South Africa’s big score. Richa Ghosh’s injury while attempting a catch highlighted the team’s struggle in the field. These errors not only cost runs but also allowed South African batters to build and sustain their momentum.

Indian bowlers failed to execute their plans effectively. Despite having a spin-heavy attack suited for Chepauk’s conditions, they couldn’t contain the South African batters. The absence of consistent line and length, along with misjudged deliveries, allowed the opposition to score freely. The combination of Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav and Asha Sobhana, expected to excel on this surface, couldn’t make the desired impact.

India’s batting was a tale of two halves. The initial burst from the openers raised hopes, but the middle order couldn’t sustain the momentum. Harmanpreet Kaur, coming in with a crucial role to play, struggled with her strike rate. Her slow scoring, combined with Dayalan Hemalatha’s sluggish pace, added pressure on the team. Although Harmanpreet managed to boost her strike rate towards the end, it was too little, too late.

Opting to bowl first on a flat pitch could be questioned, especially given the batting firepower in India’s lineup. Additionally, the team’s approach in the middle overs, where they failed to rotate the strike effectively, put them behind in the chase. The dot balls and lack of boundary hitting in crucial phases hampered their scoring rate, making the target increasingly daunting.

Harmanpreet’s Reflection: What Next?

In the post match presentation, Harmanpreet Kaur admitted to the team’s shortcomings. “We did not play good cricket. They bowled very well and didn’t give us easy runs. The dot balls we played pushed us back. We need to be more aware of our strengths and push for victory,” she remarked. The skipper emphasized the need for the team to regroup and reassess their strategies moving forward in the series.

While the loss is a setback, it also serves as a wake up call for the Indian team. Addressing the fielding lapses, improving bowling accuracy, and maintaining consistent batting performance will be crucial for bouncing back in the series.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro retail box surfaced online ahead of launch

0

Several live photos of the rumored Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have been uploaded by tipster Ice Universe on X (previously Twitter). According to the photos, the headset has undergone a design upgrade. Each earphone now has a stem rather than the pebble-shaped form of its predecessors. The new design makes it appear a lot like the AirPods Pro and other TWS headsets, according to several users’ comments on the page.

According to this latest rumor, the firm plans to release the Galaxy Buds 3 with a stem design instead of the in-ear form factor seen on the Galaxy Buds 2.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro rumored details

However, a US Reddit member asserts that he has acquired the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and has shared pictures of the device. The Pro variant’s stem design is also confirmed by these hands-on photos, which align with previous reports. The Pro version is said to have longer stems than the Galaxy Buds 3. In the meanwhile, it appears that the strips on the earphones are the ‘Blade Lights.'” Still, it’s not entirely clear what Blade Lights are.

With its stemmed structure, the box features a similar design update to the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro model. There was a white colorway of the Buds 3 with a black stripe running up the stem. Whether the strips contain LEDs is unknown.

The company’s bean-shaped headphones have had mediocre microphone performance ever since the Galaxy Buds+ were introduced in 2020. Given that the microphones are now located nearer to the user’s mouth in the new design, this should get better. The modification should allow the earphones additional internal room in addition to possibly improving call quality. More sensors, a more potent chipset, and a bigger battery might be added with this.

“Ultra High-Quality Sound” at 24-bits/96kHz was allegedly promised for the Pro model in a previous report. Additional features include ambient sound and ANC, according to reports. In addition, a 500mAh battery is allegedly supporting the charging cover of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.

Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to have a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W fast-charging support

It has been suggested that the Xiaomi 15 Pro would include a silicon negative electrode battery, based on a post by tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) on the Chinese social networking site Weibo. An impressive improvement over the 4,800mAh battery featured in its predecessor, a 5,400mAh battery is rumored to be included.

Support for 100W wired fast charging is also a new feature for the smartphone. It previously supported up to 120W charging, thus if this is accurate, it is a downgrade. Xiaomi, on the other hand, is supposed to enhance smartphone quick charging using wireless means. It might be compatible with 100W wireless fast charging, which would be twice as quick as the Xiaomi 14 Pro, according to the advice source.

Along with this, the tipster states that Xiaomi is testing a 120W wired fast charging solution, but that the company has not been able to address thermal problems associated with a “temperature rise problem.”

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset from Qualcomm will probably be included in the Xiaomi 15 Pro. TSMC will produce the new chipset, which will be built on the 2nd generation 3nm process node (N3E).

An OV50K primary camera, an IMX882 telephoto unit with a 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens are rumored to be included in the Xiaomi 15 Pro. Instead of using a traditional optical fingerprint sensor, the phone is anticipated to use an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone, which is a member of the Xiaomi 15 series, is anticipated to arrive in the upcoming months.

Crash Bandicoot Leads the Charge: Activision Blizzard Games Rumored for Xbox Game Pass Boost

0

Xbox Game Pass subscribers have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Activision Blizzard titles since Microsoft’s blockbuster acquisition last year.

While Diablo IV kicked things off in March, the wait for more entries seems to be nearing its end. According to rumors, iconic franchises like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater are poised to land on Game Pass next month, significantly expanding the service’s library.

Activision Blizzard

A Long-Awaited Expansion

Microsoft’s initial goal of swiftly integrating Activision Blizzard’s back catalog into Game Pass hit a snag due to regulatory hurdles. However, with the deal now finalized, fans can finally expect a steady stream of beloved titles. This news comes as a welcome relief after the quiet Xbox Games Showcase offered no updates on the Activision Blizzard front.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Takes the Lead

Leading the rumored charge is the critically acclaimed Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. This remaster collection, which recently surpassed 20 million units sold, is expected to join Game Pass in August.

Industry insider “extas1s” suggests it won’t be a solo act, hinting at the imminent arrival of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. While exact dates for Spyro and Tony Hawk remain unconfirmed, the news paints a promising picture for fans of these classic franchises.

Windows Central Corroborates the Rumors

Windows Central, a reputable source in the gaming industry, has corroborated the Crash Bandicoot rumor. They further suggest a gradual rollout for Activision Blizzard’s back catalog, ensuring a steady stream of content for Game Pass subscribers. This approach indicates a long-term strategy, as opposed to a one-time content dump.

Gamescom Opening Night Live: A Potential Announcement Platform?

While official confirmation regarding release dates is still pending, Gamescom Opening Night Live, scheduled for August 20th, could provide the perfect platform for Microsoft to announce the arrival of Crash Bandicoot on Game Pass.

This annual event is known for major gaming reveals, making it a fitting stage to kick off the rumored influx of Activision Blizzard titles.

A Brighter Future for Game Pass: Activision Blizzard

The rumored arrival of these iconic franchises marks a significant step forward for Game Pass. The representation of a wide variety of genres ensures that there is something to appeal to everyone.

This expansion not only strengthens the value proposition of the subscription service but also reignites the excitement surrounding the Microsoft-Activision Blizzard merger. It’s a win-win situation for both Microsoft and gamers eager to revisit these beloved classics or experience them for the first time.

Looking Ahead: A Gradual But Promising Approach

While the wait for the entire Activision Blizzard back catalog might continue for a while, the rumored August additions suggest a long-term commitment from Microsoft.

The gradual rollout allows for proper optimization and ensures a consistent flow of content for Game Pass subscribers. With Crash Bandicoot potentially leading the charge, the future of Game Pass appears to be brimming with exciting possibilities.
