The Oscar Bruzon–East Bengal saga has escalated further. In a formal statement dated 11 September 2026, the former ISL-winning coach has directly named club official Nitu Sarkar (“Nitu Da”), holding him accountable for what Bruzon describes as a sustained campaign to discredit him — one that has now reportedly followed him to his new club, Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC.

What Oscar Bruzon Said

Bruzon clarified that his disagreement was never with East Bengal, its history, or its supporters, but with what he calls an “internal political structure” he believes Sarkar leads. He stated that based on the “timing, content and repetition” of coordinated attacks from anonymous and suspicious accounts, he holds Sarkar responsible for explaining whether people connected to that structure are encouraging or benefiting from the harassment.

Importantly, Bruzon was careful to frame this as his own assessment rather than presenting unverified claims as fact, adding that if Sarkar and the club deny involvement, they should say so clearly and take visible steps to stop the attacks.

A Legacy He Says Is Bigger Than Politics

Bruzon emphasized that his responsibility during his tenure was always to the team and the club, “never to an individual, lobby, broker or internal faction.” He credited the players, staff, and fans for delivering East Bengal’s first ISL title in 22 years, calling it an achievement that “belongs to everyone who placed East Bengal above personal interests.”

A Call for Accountability, Not Conflict

Rather than inviting further attacks, Bruzon framed the statement as a demand for accountability, urging supporters to “ask a simple question: who benefits from keeping this conflict alive?” He warned that allowing internal politics to override footballing decisions risks dragging the club back to “some of its darkest sporting periods.”

Closing the Chapter

Bruzon confirmed his time at East Bengal is officially over, stating he has “no interest in fighting the club” but reserves the right to defend his reputation when attacks follow him into his new professional environment. He closed by urging genuine supporters to “protect the club” and “judge every claim by the evidence.”
