Netflix’s live-action One Piece has been quiet on the casting front for season 3 compared to the steady drip of announcements during season 2 — until now. Four new actors have officially joined the show as central figures from the beloved Alabasta arc: Pell, Koza, Toto, and Chaka.

Meet the New Alabasta Cast

Jamie Ward takes on Pell, widely regarded as Alabasta’s strongest fighter and one of the kingdom’s head guards, wielding the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Falcon. Ward is known for his roles in His Dark Materials and Tyrant, and has two more Netflix projects on the way.

Emilio Sakraya plays Koza, Princess Vivi’s childhood friend and the leader of the Alabasta Rebellion. He previously starred in Warrior Nun and Tribes of Europa, along with Peacock’s Those About to Die.

Omid Abtahi joins as Toto, Koza’s father and a resident of the town of Yuba. Abtahi brings a long resume of live-action and voice work, including roles in The Boys, Better Call Saul, and The Mandalorian.

Nabeel Khan rounds out the group as Chaka, the acting captain of Alabasta’s royal guard and user of the Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Jackal. Khan has worked extensively as a stunt performer, alongside on-screen roles in projects like Chander Pahar.

Why This Casting Wave Matters

The Alabasta arc is one of the most beloved stretches of the original One Piece manga and anime, built around a desert kingdom’s civil war and Princess Vivi’s fight to save her people. Getting Pell, Koza, Toto, and Chaka right matters enormously to longtime fans, since these characters carry much of the arc’s emotional weight. Their casting is a strong signal that Netflix is treating this stretch of the story with the same care that made earlier arcs land well with audiences.
