A struggling job seeker by day, an indie band vocalist by night, and a chaebol boss with an oddly specific obsession — Oh Se Young’s next role sounds exactly like the kind of setup K-drama fans live for, and it’s official.
The Casting News
On August 13, MBN confirmed Oh Se Young as the female lead in “What a Boss Wants” (working title), joining previously announced male lead Sung Hoon. She’ll play Lee Eun Chae, a job seeker who secretly moonlights as indie band vocalist “Su.”

What’s the Story?
The drama follows Kwon Do Hyuk, a chaebol heir with famously poor taste, who becomes fixated on tracking down the mystery woman behind a voice he heard on an album. That woman turns out to be Lee Eun Chae, who lives a double life balancing a tough job hunt with secret late-night performances as her stage alter ego, Su. As the two grow closer, she works to keep her true identity hidden from him.
Why This Casting Works
The production team specifically praised Oh Se Young’s ability to shift between Eun Chae’s grounded, real-world struggles and Su’s stage confidence, calling it a chance to showcase her range across two very different sides of the same character. Pairing that dual-identity role with Sung Hoon’s chaebol lead sets up the classic slow-burn dynamic K-drama fans keep coming back for: mistaken identity, high stakes, and a romance built on secrets waiting to unravel.
