Nothing Phone (4b) Launch Date Confirmed: Affordable Transparency Lands July 7

Nothing just teased its next big budget play. The London-based smartphone maker has officially confirmed the Nothing Phone (4b) will launch on July 7th, marking the debut of an entirely new “b” series built to nail the basics rather than chase flagship specs.

The announcement came straight from Nothing India’s official X account, with a playful caption: “Kept sketching the Phone (4a) series and accidentally made a new phone.” Classic Nothing humour, but the timing is no accident — it lands right as rivals scramble to defend the budget segment.

Nothing Phone (4b): What We Know So Far

Nothing teased the design just a day earlier, hinting at a single rear camera setup — a clear signal of its budget positioning. Even though it’s part of the Nothing family rather than the CMF sub-brand, the phone will inherit the transparent aesthetic the company has built its identity around.

Where It Fits in Nothing’s Lineup

Nothing’s co-founder and India President, Akis Evangelidis, was quick to clarify the brand hierarchy so fans don’t confuse the 4b with a 4a variant. He explained that the B Series builds on the A Series’ success by expanding into a new segment while keeping a clear product hierarchy, with the A Series remaining the company’s most premium line below the flagship products that carry no letter suffix at all.

That’s an important distinction. The Nothing Phone (4a) — which we covered in detail when its full specs and ₹31,999 price were confirmed — already sits as the “premium budget” pick. The 4b will now slot in below it, targeting an even more price-conscious buyer.

Why the Sub-25K Price Tag Matters

The Nothing Phone (4a) currently starts at ₹37,999 in India, after a ₹6,000 hike triggered by climbing memory prices. That same memory crunch has already forced Nothing to cancel a planned CMF Phone 3 Pro, so a genuinely affordable Phone (4b) is a clever way to keep the brand accessible without bleeding margins on RAM-heavy flagships.

It’s a familiar pattern for Nothing fans — TechnoSports has tracked similar flash-sale price drops on the Phone (4a) earlier this year, as the brand juggles rising component costs with the need to stay competitive in India’s crowded mid-range market.

What to Expect Next

Nothing is keeping specs and final design under wraps for now, but with a Flipkart microsite already live, expect a steady drip of leaks over the next two weeks. Given the brand’s history — from the original Nothing Phone (1) to the camera-forward Phone 3a series — the 4b is likely to lean hard into design distinctiveness even at a lower price point.

For now, mark your calendars: July 7, 3:30 PM IST. For official updates straight from the source, keep an eye on Nothing’s official website.
