What Is “Mmchk” All About?
NEXZ dropped a new trailer on April 6 via their official SNS channels, confirming the release of their new album Mmchk on April 27. The trailer itself is already turning heads — and for good reason.
In the released trailer, the seven members are each immersed in their own world within one space: Hyui reading a book, Seita repeatedly tossing chalk, Yuki switching a lamp on and off, and Tomoya sitting deep in thought. Then, as a neatly dressed figure on TV explains table manners, Yu-woo unexpectedly captivates everyone’s attention — until the carefully built atmosphere collapses, the chalk falls apart, and the black cat leaps from Yu’s arms.
It’s eerie, oddly cinematic, and deeply intriguing. The album name “Mmchk” appears through screen noise as the TV crackles and all members’ eyes are drawn toward it. Starnews Korea Strange, stylish, and very much NEXZ.
This marks their comeback in six months since the mini album Beat-Boxer, which was released in October last year.
