As of October 6, both seasons of the spin-off are streaming in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most other regions. The series premiered on Crunchyroll in April 2025, which is why Netflix viewers in many regions had to wait. It’s the latest addition to Netflix’s growing My Hero Academia collection.

What Is Vigilantes About ?

The story is set before the main series. Koichi Haimawari is a timid college student whose pro-hero dreams never came true. After a life-changing incident, the hulking vigilante Knuckleduster offers to train him. Together with the pop-idol vigilante PopStep, they tackle the street-level crimes that licensed heroes overlook.

How Is the Franchise Doing on Netflix?

Netflix engagement reports covering January 2023 to June 2026 show that My Hero Academia is one of the streamer’s most consistent anime performers. Across 14 seasons and movies, it has racked up 728.5 million hours viewed and just over 100 million views.

Most viewed: Season 1, with 18.1 million views
Most watch time: Season 2, with 151.6 million hours
Vigilantes so far: Season 1 has 1.1 million views and Season 2 has 0.4 million, counted only from the Asian regions where it was already available

Expect those Vigilantes numbers to climb now that major Western markets are included.

Will There Be a Season 3?

Not confirmed yet. Season 1 aired in spring 2025 and Season 2 followed in winter 2026, with no renewal announced after the finale. Studio Bones is busy with other franchise projects, but there’s still plenty of manga left to adapt, so a return isn’t ruled out.
