How Did Mirai Perform Week by Week?

From the start, it seemed like the film would score higher than it eventually did, but business slipped on weekdays. It stabilised in the second weekend and sustained well, benefiting from the Dusshera holiday period. The third week collected a solid Rs. 8 crore despite competition from They Call Him OG, and the fourth week added Rs. 2.40 crore before the digital premiere formally closed the run.

An honest performance — strong on weekends, soft on weekdays, but ultimately landing a respectable finish.

What Does This Mean for Teja Sajja?

Mirai is now the second biggest grosser for Teja Sajja, just behind his previous film Hanu-Man, which grossed nearly Rs. 300 crore worldwide.

That’s a significant career graph. Two consecutive films crossing the Rs. 100 crore mark in India is not easy for any star, and Teja has done it back-to-back. The Telugu film industry has been actively looking for bankable leading men outside the established top tier, and Mirai’s Mirai movie collection worldwide firmly places Teja in that conversation.

The film overindexed in bigger centres, which is generally the case with Tier 2 star films. Nizam alone delivered nearly Rs. 35 crore gross — almost half of the Telugu states — while Karnataka crossed Rs. 10 crore. The US earned a fantastic USD 3 million from the overseas run.

A Hindi-dubbed version was also released. Since Hanu-Man had collected over Rs. 50 crore nett in Hindi, there were expectations — they didn’t fully materialise, but the Hindi gross still gave the film bragging rights as a Rs. 100 crore grosser in India.
