Mbappé Reaches 100 Goal Contributions for Real Madrid, Only Ronaldo Got There Faster

Some milestones need context to truly land. Kylian Mbappé’s hat-trick against Real Sociedad wasn’t just a statement win for Mourinho’s Real Madrid — it pushed the Frenchman to a century of direct goal contributions in just 105 appearances for the club, a pace only bettered in Madrid’s history by one man: Cristiano Ronaldo.

A Hat-Trick That Made History

Mbappé controlled a Federico Valverde pass to open the scoring in the 40th minute, doubled his tally from a Jude Bellingham assist in the 60th, then completed his hat-trick in the 80th off a Vinícius Júnior setup, sealing a 4-1 win at the Bernabéu and crossing the 100 goal-contribution threshold in the process.

The Numbers Behind Mbappe and Ronaldo

Why the Comparison Matters

Ronaldo’s blend of scoring and creating was more balanced in his early Madrid years, reaching the century mark with 21 assists compared to Mbappé’s 11 — a gap that’s shaped ongoing debate about Mbappé’s more single-minded finishing style. Mourinho, who has coached the likes of Ronaldo, Kaká and Wesley Sneijder, didn’t hold back in his praise, calling Mbappé “incredible” and noting the hunger he sees to build his own Madrid legacy.

The One Thing Missing

Despite the eye-catching numbers, Mbappé’s tenure has so far been light on team silverware, with only the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup to show for his goals. With Mourinho now at the helm, all eyes turn to whether major trophies finally follow the individual brilliance. Full stats and match records are available on the official Real Madrid website.
