Good news for Dulquer Salmaan fans: director Venky Atluri has confirmed that a sequel to the acclaimed Lucky Baskhar is officially on his radar — though patience will be key.

What Did Venky Atluri Say?

Ahead of the release of his upcoming Suriya-starrer Vishwanath & Sons, Atluri confirmed in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter India that Lucky Baskhar 2 is very much part of his future plans. However, he made clear it won’t happen anytime soon, explaining that he first needs to complete two other film commitments before diving into the sequel, which he called a big responsibility that deserves careful exploration.

Before returning to Baskhar’s story, Atluri revealed his immediate lineup includes a cop drama with Dhanush and a family-friendly kids’ film inspired by the likes of Disney and Home Alone. He estimated it will be roughly two years before Lucky Baskhar 2 goes into development.
