Leslie Grossman Power Origins: Flossie Returns in Starz Prequel

The Power universe has a way of pulling its people back into the fold. Leslie Grossman power origins casting news lands with a familiar name attached: Flossie, the character she built in Raising Kanan, is reportedly coming along for the ride into the new Starz prequel.

Reports point to Grossman reprising the role in the expanding franchise, though Starz has not yet made an official announcement as of August 2026. The news arrives with a specific logic. You don’t bring an actor back into a sprawling crime saga without a plan, and the Power brand has never been shy about rewarding its loyalists. Grossman’s Flossie carved out a distinct space in Raising Kanan, and moving that energy into Power: Origins signals a deliberate narrative bridge between the shows.

The Return That Changes the Power Board

Flossie wasn’t a background player. In Raising Kanan, the character carried weight in the neighbourhood dynamics that define the series’ street-level storytelling. Bringing her into Power: Origins extends a thread that fans of the original series will recognise instantly, and it gives the prequel a connective tissue that pure newcomers wouldn’t get. Here’s the thing: the casting says more about the franchise’s direction than about any single episode. The Power universe, created by Courtney A. Kemp, has built its strength on interlocking stories. Grossman’s return is a signal that the producers want continuity, not just a fresh coat of paint. > You don’t cast this pair by accident. The calculus is deliberate — a performer with proven range walking back into a crime saga is a statement about where this franchise is heading, not a coincidence. Context: A Franchise Built on Loyalty

The Power brand has dominated premium cable through the Starz network, and the franchise’s expansion has been steered by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson through his G-Unit Film & Television banner. That production engine has turned a single hit series into a family of shows, each one feeding the others.

Grossman’s move fits that pattern perfectly. For subscribers tracking the crossover between the action wave and the Power universe, the casting choices signal an appetite for character-driven returns over flashy new names.

The same logic drives the storyline, where loyalty and betrayal are two sides of the same coin. Franchise casting news of this scale rarely lands without a longer arc in mind.

What’s Next

Production on Power: Origins is expected to continue through the year, with the franchise’s pipeline showing no signs of slowing. Reports suggest the series is being built as a direct bridge to the original Power timeline, which means Flossie’s presence could ripple across multiple seasons.

For now, the confirmation sits in the hands of Starz. Until the network makes it official, the smart money is on Grossman’s return being the first of several familiar faces to walk back into the fold.

Conclusion

Leslie Grossman power origins casting is the kind of news that rewards patient fans. It ties the prequel to the streets of Raising Kanan, gives 50 Cent’s production team a proven performer, and keeps the Power universe feeling smaller and more connected than ever. That’s the whole game — a franchise that keeps its people close. The wait for an official Starz announcement is the only thing standing between
