The AIO market of India is constantly evolving and people are flocking towards these All in One’s, especially after the COVID outbreak which forced everyone to work from home. This is why even today people are looking for a desktop that just fits their desk without the hassle of a giant cabinet.

While there is a huge demand for these AIOs under Rs.50k for home or office usage, there is a specific genre of people who need premium ones for their work and play. Yes, AIOs compete against the mighty iMacs from Apple which have completely turned the market towards them in the last few years.

In the middle of this, Lenovo previously launched a very unique product in the form of Yoga AIO 7 powered by all-AMD hardware which is by far one of the most catchy products I’ve ever seen. Though in terms of hardware specs it has gotten a bit older, now that prices have come down, it’s an ideal time to go for it.

Design & Build Quality

Undoubtedly, seeing this AIO even from the pictures you will understand that the design is very unique as well as versatile compared to other AIOs in the market. The PC behind the display is really a big one and it’s really heavy but setting up is really very easy, the solid hinge takes care of the so-called PC behind which also acts as the arm of the humongous display.

Well, it’s not sleek as compared to the iMacs but definitely looks premium, thanks to a smarter way of implementing it. The white body, grey finish, and speakers underneath the display, this is an engineering marvel and its design is so unique. The PC chassis that acts as the arm of the display is strong enough to handle it whether you use it horizontally or even vertically without any problems.

Lenovo has put special attention on this Yoga AIO 7 and it’s really solid in terms of build quality and looks as well as feels premium.

Display

If you love bigger displays with high resolution, this should be it because here Lenovo has given a 27-inch 4K UHD touch display with almost no bezels at the corners, making it look stand out when you place it on your desktop. On top of this, the peak brightness is 360 nits and is very color accurate while also supporting 10-point multi-touch.

When launched, I did really admire this Yoga AIO 7 but in reality, it’s really a dream for any content creator or professional. Perfect for professionals, the AIO’s display is top-notch and can be used for work like video or photo editing, game development and much more.

Also, for those who love 4K displays and want to have one for their desk without going through the hassle of making a PC separately, this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 is a great solution. The display is rotatable up to 90 degrees, so you can tilt the screen from horizontal to vertical for comfortable viewing with an exclusive rotatable hinge.

Though it shouldn’t be only used for entertainment purposes I have used it for watching movies or shows at night and my God, it looks superb. Let’s see this 27-inch 4K touchscreen display’s metrics in our DataColor SypderX Pro tests and does it live up to Lenovo’s claims:

As you see in the display tests, Lenovo’s claims of color accuracy are true and its 100% sRGB color accuracy covers 81%, 83%, and 76% of AdobeRGB, DCI-P3 and NTSC color gamuts respectively. These numbers are quite good for a professional display while the grey ramp or tone response is shown in the tests last the peak brightness goes up to 300 nits and for indoor usage, it’s quite good.

Also, it has a low blue light mode which can be used for those who work long hours, overall, in terms of display, this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 27 is quite good, not the best, but definitely with a touchscreen 4K panel which is both color accuracy and brightness you cannot as for more. However, in the next iteration of this AI, I would definitely love it if Lenovo upgrades the panel to OLED, and increase the refresh rate and brightness with HDR support which would really make a mark.

Performance

Here I feel, the collaboration between AMD and Lenovo has really paved off because they have managed to cram in a powerful 8-core Ryzen 7 5800H alongside a dedicated RX 6600M graphics with 8GB VRAM. In such a small area behind the display, Lenovo has put all the hardware including 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD storage.

This results in a phenomenal performance even though the Ryzen CPU is a bit old, however, with full power to shoot, this 8-core Ryzen chip breeze past most heavy tasks easily. I have previously used other gaming laptops with this Ryzen 7 5800H and the performance was quite good, so this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 is no exception.

The dedicated AMD Radeon RX 6600M graphics is rare on a Windows AIO but here knowing the use case for this Yoga AIO 7, Lenovo made great all-AMD hardware and used these RDNA2 graphics to help creators or professionals work on this AIO without having to fear about the graphical demands that most software needs these days.

In terms of day-to-day usage, the AMD pair worked really well but I feel at this price and in 2022 there could be a more powerful CPU though but it’s still respectable, comparable to the M1 chip on the baseline iMacs. However, being paired with a strong AMD GPU, which again could have been better, helps to provide a well-combined score.

Here are some of the results running this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 with Ryzen 7 5800H and RX 6600M graphics we got:

As you see in these synthetic benchmarks, though based on Zen 3 architecture, this Ryzen 7 5800H is quite powerful at its full potential. It easily matches the new Ryzen 9s because of its robust thermals and is a great CPU for day-to-day as well as productivity workloads. The high score in the PCMark10 benchmark gives you an idea of what this Yoga AIO 7 is capable of and creators can indeed use this AIO if they are looking for one.

In a wide range of 3DMark benchmarks also, this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 with Ryzen 7 5800H performs quite well and thanks to the RX 6600M graphics this one performs even better in productivity applications.

As you see in the CyrstalDiskmark test, this 1TB SSD is quite fast but not the fastest I’ve seen as it’s not PCIe Gen4 but is good enough for most workloads.

Overall, in terms of performance as an AIO, this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 is really powerful, efficient and practical, in such a form factor, the all-AMD hardware will not disappoint you for everyday usage. Though not recommended for extremely heavy usage or for crunching numbers but yes for a moderate to serious workaholic and creators, this AIO is a useful piece of hardware.

Gaming

Though this AIO is not meant for gaming strictly yes, thanks to a powerful processor and capable enough graphics, I did play some games and while I didn’t have too much expectation, surprisingly this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 exceeded my thoughts to give a far better gaming performance.

Thanks to strong all-AMD hardware, the gaming numbers are quite good even at 4K and if you use the latest upscaling tech like FSR 2 this even gets better. I didn’t use it for intense gaming every day but did a test on some of the latest triple-A titles to check the gaming numbers:

As you see the FPS on some of the high-end games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or the Watch Dogs Legion or even on the latest Gotham Knights, this machine easily handled all of them without even the need for proper upscaling. However, at 4K it struggles a bit but with FSR, you can easily play triple-A titles even at 4K while Battle Royal games are highly playable and you can use this PC for PC gaming as well.

Thermals & Upgradability

Having a bigger chassis to cool a mobile APU does help and here is the Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 with Ryzen 7 5800H has great thermals to be taken care of alongside the RX 6600M. The cooling is done really well and even doing heavy workloads like sideloading a bunch of apps, and opening multiple Chrome tabs don’t actually kick the fans of this AIO.

Unless you benchmark or say render any video, or do extreme workloads, this AIO’s cooling is quite impressive and most of the time it’s silent. For my everyday usage, I actually loved using the Yoga AIO 7 which gave me a smooth, stutter-free experience all the time. Coming to upgradability, most things are slaughtered but the RAM here is upgradable to 32GB and so you can use this for years down the road.

I/O & Connectivity

Being a full-fledged PC, Lenovo has given a wide range of connectivity options here and in terms of design, the Chinese giant has spread the ports quite beautifully at each end for your ease. There are multiple ports including RJ-45, 2x USB Type-A 2.0 and 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, truly an abundance of USB ports at your disposal.

Now, in terms of connectivity, you have both Wi-Fi 5 (11ac, 2×2) and Bluetooth 5.0 options which to be fair works well but I would have liked the latest standard.

Keyboard & Mouse

Lenovo also includes a matching white keyboard and a grey mouse with this Yoga AIO 7 but talking about it, it’s definitely not that good, average in terms of quality. Here I expected a better mechanical keyboard at least than a membrane one, though its design is good but not comfortable or clicky enough for typing all day.

Also, the mouse looks cheaper and extremely light, however, both lack premiumness, just a gimmick in terms of design, good enough for taking pictures and not using it daily.

Audio & Webcam

Having a bigger chassis and design means you can accommodate multiple things and here you have a big speaker underneath the display. This is a dual 5W Stereo speaker which gives you a proper surround sound experience I personally loved this one for everyday use because I love to hear music while working.

As it is powered by JBL and supports Dolby Audio Premium, the sound quality is amazing and goes very loud without any distortion. So, anyone who wants to use this Yoga AIO 7 for entertainment purposes only also can do so because it has a mind-blowing sound output. Talking about the webcam here, I am impressed that Lenovo hasn’t cheaped out on this.

We are still in a hybrid environment and a lot of people do rely on video calls to get the job done for them, this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 has a detachable 5.0MP camera with IR (facial recognition) along with a privacy shutter. This webcam is quite good I would say but lacks sharpness, not iMac quality but it is certainly much better than a lot of Windows AIOs.

Verdict

Price at ₹1,71,490, this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 is definitely not cheap and it’s this much more expensive because it’s imported and so as per standards there are heavy taxes levied on it. I would love this AIO and would actually buy it if it was more aggressive in terms of pricing but this is how it is, so even if you love this unique product you have a price to pay for.

Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 review - A premium AIO for creators and enthusiasts

As an overall package, this Yoga AIO 7 is one of its kind when it comes to Windows AIOs and kudos to Lenovo for that but certainly, in 2022 there are some features missing, however, for daily usage, undoubtedly this is one of the best. Be it professional users or office usage or even for casual gaming, this Lenovo Yoga AIO 7 with all-AMD hardware completely gets your job done.

The perks are its display, performance, audio, and I/O, this AIO is for those who want a premium, no-compromise Windows machine but is certainly expensive. If you have the requirement for this kind of All-in-One PC and have the money to spend, the Yoga AIO 7 is just what you need and AMD is again at the core powering this unique product.
