The wait is almost over. Lee Dong Wook and Kim Hye Joon are reuniting for A Shop for Killers 2, premiering in July 2026 — and ahead of the release, the duo sat down with ELLE Korea for a stunning pictorial and candid interview that has K-drama fans buzzing.

What Is A Shop for Killers 2 About?

The original A Shop for Killers is a Korean action drama following Jeong Ji An (Kim Hye Joon), who moves in with her uncle Jeong Jin Man (Lee Dong Wook) after losing her parents. When Jin Man suddenly dies, Ji An inherits his dangerous secret and becomes a target. In Season 2, Ji An steps up as the shopping mall’s new CEO, joining forces with a mysteriously alive Jin Man to battle the global criminal organization Babylon.

What the Stars Said

Lee Dong Wook reflected on his character, saying he grew closer to Jin Man rather than discovering something entirely new, and sees the character as an “ongoing figure” still being shaped.

On their effortless on-screen bond, he described their reunion on set as feeling completely natural — as though they had filmed just yesterday and simply picked up where they left off.

Kim Hye Joon went all-in for the role. She revealed she carried a gun around her house constantly to make handling it feel like an extension of her body — spending so much time as Ji An that she felt more like her character than herself.

She also gave the sweetest insight into their dynamic: Lee Dong Wook always tells her “this is yours,” which she interprets as his quiet way of cheering her on — always standing one reliable step behind her. soompi
