The Big Reveal

Director Siddharth Anand sent fans into a frenzy on January 24, 2026, with cryptic posts: “And…” then “The date…” before finally announcing “#KING is Ready to ROAR on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas.”

Christmas Eve release gives King massive advantages—solo Bollywood release, extended holiday footfalls, and lucrative Christmas-New Year window. Trade analysts predict record-breaking numbers.

Father-Daughter First: SRK & Suhana Together

This marks Shah Rukh and daughter Suhana Khan’s first theatrical film together. Suhana debuted in Netflix’s The Archies (2023), but King is her Bollywood big-screen launch.

Initially conceptualized with Suhana leading and SRK in a cameo (director Sujoy Ghosh), the project expanded when Siddharth Anand took over in December 2024, transforming it into an SRK vehicle with Suhana in a pivotal role.

Production Challenges

Filming faced hurdles. July 2025: SRK suffered a muscular injury during action sequences at Mumbai’s Golden Tobacco Factory, requiring US treatment and a month-long delay. Co-star Raghav Juyal also injured his leg.

September 2025: The second schedule began in Warsaw, Poland. Arshad Warsi shared Old Town photos; Anand commented, “Welcome to the Kingdom,” sparking plot speculation.

December 2025: Aftera six-week break, SRK resumed shooting. Production includes elaborate foreign jail sets, indicating high-octane prison action.

The Pathaan Reunion

After delivering Pathaan (₹1,050 crore+ worldwide), Siddharth Anand reunites with SRK. Known for large-scale action (War, Fighter), Anand promises a darker, layered narrative.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander (Jawan 2023) returns for the upcoming movie, marking his first Anand collaboration. Fans expect a blockbuster album combining action intensity with emotional depth.

What to Expect

The upcoming movie follows a mentor-disciple duo (SRK and Suhana) on a perilous journey through unforgiving environments. The narrative spans two timelines, showing SRK’s character across life stages.

With two villains (Raghav Juyal and Abhishek Bachchan, rumored), international locations (Poland, Mumbai), and Anand’s action expertise, the movie promises SRK’s most physically demanding role yet—impressive for a 60-year-old.

Christmas 2026 release ensures no competition, potentially giving a 3-4 week clear run before major January releases.
