Shah Rukh Khan’s “King” Enters Final Shooting Schedule with US and South America on the Cards

The countdown to one of Bollywood’s most anticipated releases just got a little more real. Shah Rukh Khan‘s much-awaited action thriller “King” has reportedly wrapped the bulk of its filming, with only one international schedule left before the production officially closes out.

What’s Left to Shoot KING?

According to reports, the final international leg is expected to kick off soon, with production teams actively scouting locations across the United States and multiple countries in South America. While nothing has been officially finalized, sources suggest the unit is working through logistics before finalizing exact filming spots.

Chasing Locations Rarely Seen on Screen

What makes this final schedule particularly interesting is the intent behind it. Reports suggest both Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand are keen on filming in locations that Indian cinema hasn’t widely explored — a move that could give “King” a distinctly fresh visual identity compared to typical Bollywood action fare.

A Film With Personal Significance

Beyond the action spectacle, “King” carries special meaning as the first on-screen collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter, Suhana Khan, marking her big-screen debut after previously appearing in the OTT series “The Archies.” The film also reunites Khan with Siddharth Anand following their blockbuster collaboration on “Pathaan,” adding another layer of anticipation among fans.

A High-Stakes December Release

“King” is set for a December 24, 2026 release — placing it directly in the middle of a stacked holiday box office period, competing against global heavyweights like Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, both releasing just a week earlier. Despite the crowded lineup, Khan has publicly confirmed the film’s release date remains unchanged, expressing confidence in its ability to stand out.

With filming nearly complete and only an ambitious international schedule remaining, anticipation for “King” continues building steadily. The choice of unconventional international locations, combined with the emotional weight of Shah Rukh and Suhana’s first on-screen pairing, positions this as one of the most closely watched Bollywood releases of the year.
