What Is kiDnap GAME About?

The story kicks off with news reports of simultaneous kidnappings unfolding across seven Asian cities at once. Families of the victims then receive unsettling messages testing exactly how far they’d go to save the people they love — the first sign that something much bigger and far more sinister is underway.

Seven participants, each representing a different city, are pulled into a deadly game with only 10 days to complete individual missions. The twist: only one person can make it to the end alive, and each participant must survive the game themselves before they can even attempt to rescue their kidnapped loved one.

Sakaguchi Kentaro plays Nīide Toshiro, a Tokyo detective whose wife has been taken, while Lee Joon Gi stars as Han Ki Joo, a retired doctor whose visually impaired daughter becomes a target. As the two men — along with five other participants scattered across Asia — get pulled deeper into the game, the series promises a tense psychological battle built on impossible choices. For readers curious about the actors’ past work, both Lee Joon Gi and the concept of Korean thriller dramas as a genre are well documented on Wikipedia.
