The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on August 15, 2024, and will face off against two major films: Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, and Vedaa, featuring John Abraham.

Despite rumors circulating that the filmmakers might change the release date to avoid a box-office clash, Akshay has confirmed that Khel Khel Mein will premiere as originally planned. He announced the release date on Instagram with a motion poster, using the hashtag “#GameIsOn.”
“Friendship Games… a movie about friendship! Set in a grand celebration… get ready for the ultimate entertainer! Say ‘hello’ to the biggest family film of the year! Khel Khel Mein hits cinemas on August 15, 2024,” wrote the actor in the caption. The motion poster showcases the film’s main cast, including Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Pragya Jaiswal, and Aditya Seal.
Shortly after Akshay posted the motion poster for the upcoming film, fans flooded the comments section. One fan commented, “I’ve always dreamed of an AK-Fardeen reunion.” Another added, “The golden age of comedy is returning.”
Box Office Showdown
With Khel Khel Mein confirmed to release on August 15, it will now compete against John Abraham’s Vedaa and Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. Initially, two other major films, Singham Again and Pushpa 2: The Rule were slated for release around the same time. However, they have decided to postpone their release dates by a few months.
