Imagine a perfect first date, and then two completely different stories about what happened afterward. That’s the hook of MBC’s upcoming drama The Perfect Lie, which just released new stills teasing the chemistry, and the conflict, between its leads.

The Perfect Lie: The Story

After a perfect first date, Kang Ji Sun and Min Joon Ho become embroiled in an unexpected incident. They shared the same experience, yet each gives an entirely different account of what happened, according to Soompi’s report. He sticks to the facts, while she believes her version is the truth, which means one of them is lying. Their psychological battle over conflicting memories is expected to drive the drama’s suspense.

A Reunion After 10 Years

The drama marks the reunion of Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin, who starred together in the hit series Dr. Romantic 10 years ago. For fans of that drama, seeing them again in a very different genre, a thriller rather than a medical drama, is part of the appeal.

The Two Stills

Still	What It Shows
First	The pair sit side by side on a sofa late at night with wineglasses, rain falling outside the window, and warm, excited eyes
Second	Their affection is gone, replaced by anger and hostility as they seem on the verge of a confrontation

The contrast is the point. One still looks like a romantic drama, and the other looks like a thriller, which sums up the story’s central twist.

What the Production Team Says?

The production team explained that the two actors will portray a dramatic shift in emotions and in their relationship as their characters become more entangled and clash repeatedly after the first date. They also highlighted the cast’s acting skills, mutual consideration and on-screen chemistry, and promised an unpredictable storyline that keeps viewers on edge.
